Dr. Jennifer E. Kalansky, DO

Office is run very well and organized, virtually no wait time which is great with little ones. Dr Kalansky listens to all concerns, answers all questions. We are very happy with our choice in pediatrician!

Today I saw Dr. Kalansky for most likely the last time. You see she’s been my son’s pediatrician since the age of 2. He’s now 18 and will be going off to college next week. She has been that calm and steady voice at the other end of the phone during those really scary, sick times. She has remembered small details about his life and discussed them during yearly physicals. She has never cut our time short, has never rushed us and has always made us feel heard. She is a quiet, confident, graceful woman emanating care, comfort and compassion always. I sobbed and sobbed saying goodbye to her today - I am sure the young man seated on the exam table was more than slightly mortified. I would bet money however, on the fact that he too felt grief over leaving her safety net after so many years of being shielded and protected. He’s a shy kid who was prone to nervousness as a child, and I credit her completely with making him comfortable around medical providers and in medical settings and freeing him of any unnecessary anxiety. This has emboldened him in his later years as he battled back from sports related injuries, surgeries and the like. Ugh. We just weren’t ready to close this door. We just need a little more time. I’d give anything to walk through those doors again, holding his hand while promising a sticker and a lollipop when we’re finished. Dr. Kalansky you are one of the best. The absolute best. Standing Ovation!!

I wanted a DO pediatrician for my children, but this office acts like a typical doctor and jumps right to medication over treating the individual. When I was nursing they tried to have me unnecessarily supplement with formula even though my children were growing just fine and perfectly healthy. You're not invited to ask questions about treatments to better understand side effects etc. They even tried to force a medication on my son that we are allergic to! Not happy at all with this practice.

This is not the review of a one time, phone-in experience. Dr. Kalansky has been our family pediatrician for 12 years. She is an excellent pediatrician. As any mother would, I worried when my children got ill, especially when they were much smaller. Though I questioned some of the care choices sometimes, looking back, I realize it was my own fear and lack of experience in the medical field that caused this no matter how much Google had instructed me. Dr. Kalansky is professional, affirming, a good listener, smart, gentle, and compassionate. Children who see her are in good hands.
