Dr. M Vezza legitimately saved my life. I showed up to his office in late August with 200 /120 blood pressure. I went to the hospital. After being released, Dr. Vezza saw me regularly, took his time with me to check other underlying issues. Extremely thorough good looking calming great bed side manner and charming. He is a dog lover like me. His office staff is outstanding! Clean convenient Roslyn location. If I could give Dr. Vezza 10 stars I would. This man restored my faith in the medical system. Even on vacation when sick he takes my calls.

The Doctor probably saved my life ā€˜because’ he cared about me AND my dog!

Of course I knew exactly what was wrong with me and the sweats: my Thyroid, because a doctor mentioned I was borderline years ago, and I Googled it! Yes Thyroid which regulates body temperature - so I made an appointment quite randomly via the internet with Dr Marco Vezza, MD in Mineola, NY.

I told him everything I knew, and was honest about stopping caffein and beer a week earlier… so I figured I’d walk out with a prescription. :)

But - as part of the checkup I had an EKG.

Well, Dr Vezza (whom I had never met before) said he really didn’t like the EKG and that I really should go to the Emergency Room right away!!! I told him that I was from Jersey, AND that my 2 year old timid dog was in the car! So no, I can’t go to the hospital; I’ll go next week in Jersey.

But he implored me, and asked if I would put my puppy in a kennel. I said no I couldn’t since she had never been in a cage since I got her from the NorthShore Animal League.

So… what does the good doctor say?

Dr Vezza offered to watch my dog!!! Yes, offered to watch my dog, and said his wife loves dogs too.

I hesitated but very politely declined the offer because I wasn’t sure I really wanted to go to the hospital being hours away from home. (Actually I simply didn’t know what to do.)

Fortunately, I was able to see a great friend with medical knowledge who sternly ā€œconcurredā€ (i.e., ā€œā€¦get your rear to the hospital…) and said he would watch my dog. (Robert is a PA, and didn’t like the EKG either!).

I went to the ER and they kept me for 3 days for an invasive heart procedure, and also a diagnosis of diabetes - which I had no clue of (…last physical 2 Covid years ago.)

In the hospital (St Francis) I found Dr Vezza was well respected - so medically that’s essential; but as a regular human his compassion is wonderfully refreshing and exceptionally exemplary.

If this was an old ā€œSinging Telegramā€ I would sing his praise to high heaven!
