My take is going to be a hot take to some, however, I give him a 4/5 based on the experience I have. With the medication he’s given me I have felt better and other than one time I’ve never really had any problem with the medication. Yes, he is the type to ask just “how are you” and if you need a refill, but I’ve had the ability to sit and talk with him if there is something super major, but most of the time I talk to my therapist about that stuff unless I feel like it’s a problem with the medication. I understand why a lot of people give negative feedback because mental health is a very important detail in life to handle and people do fear any change in it. I would say he’s recommended me go to the hospital once, I didn’t end up going but I understood where he was coming from because my mood was non existent at that point, I just waited for slow adjustments to my medication to take hold. He was a major step up from the last psychiatrist I’ve had. If you’re reading this I recommend reading all the negative comments as well because their experience MAY become how you feel and if you don’t want to risk it then I completely understand. But in my case, he’s done at least a decent job but I can’t speak for everyone
He may have been good back in the day. But he is not on his game anymore. Prescribing meds for my daughter that conflict with her other meds. Not remembering the correct disease and thus not having enough pills ordered
We always have an issue
I wish he’d humbly retire. The biggest problem at mathers is he is the only Dr my daughter is permitted to see
We are looking desperately for another Med management Dr.
Just had my first appointment with him on Monday. He was very thorough in asking me questions about my mental health including prior history. After diagnosis he even gave me the option of 2 different medications that I could take. He provided me all of the information on pros/cons and side effects then allowed me 10 minutes to research each one on my phone to see how it worked for other people and see which was best for me due to certain side effects.
Update: 4 appointments later, he listens to all of my concerns and has adjusted my meds perfectly. I feel like a new person
