Nice municipal park with trails, a dog run, outdoor gym equipment and a waterfall. Sadly, Hemlock trail suffered a washed-out bridge recently. The parking by the dog run provides better trail access for now. Cherry trail has a creek crossing that is frequently wet. That leaves Maple trail, which is the longest of the three, but its blazing and trail clearing seem to fade out on the longest loops. Moreover, the posted maps can lead to confusion as the compass is wrong: White Lake Brook drains to the south, not the east. In brief: this park falls short of the better ones in Liberty (Walnut Mtn) and Town of Thompson.
Update: Hemlock trail bridge has been replaced

Nice trails on covered mossy path. River flows alongside. Cut short because bridge over Creek was out. Founders have tomb there.

I have had the pleasure of meeting up with a number of people who walk their dogs there and have enjoyed their conversations and at times walks on the many trails at the Reserve. They have been attentive to their dogs and the environment, friendly and outgoing. A few could pick up after their dog, but these are few and not the norm. My dog Otto, schnauzer, has made lots of friends on our walks. I will post some pictures of his friends at the Reserve.

Tranquility .... Doesn't get better or more relaxing than this beautiful, peaceful place 😊...also been coming here to the Smallwood falls since I was a kid (many moons ago), and a little further up the falls was a rope tied to a tree, we used to swing out on and splash in the pool of water.. great memories!!!
