Adding a pedestrian and bicycle lane to the Tappan Zee bridge was a great idea. (By the way, I grew up in New York and prefer the old name). The website for the lane has a lot of good info. However, there are a few things you need to know. The noise level from traffic is very loud. Noise cancelling headphones should be worn. The lane seems a bit claustrophobic because there's a low cement wall on both sides. The pedestrians and cyclists are separate by a white line with little room to spare. Otherwise the view is very nice. There are six places with room to pull over and enjoy the view of the river, valley, and mountains. It's difficult to see the Manhattan skyline unless you're there on a very clear day. I recommend checking it out.
Was a nice easy walk. 8 miles round trip. I don't recommend going when it's too hot. There is no place to escape the sun .
I’ve been riding the bike bridge path since the path opened and make it a part of my weekly ride which starts in in Tenafly NJ. It is a beautiful Bike path. I recommended for walking or biking. Keep in mind if you walk the bridge there are no bathrooms on the bridge. Bathrooms are located at the start of the path in Paramont and bathroom is also when you cross the bridge in Tarrytown
Absolutely stunning, from the views to the cleanliness. Great place to run, walk or ride your bike.
Ok, Firstly, the Parking is free,, bathroom are clean and a beautiful seating area to have a snack, vending machine, the walk is about 3 miles each way and there are 6 observation decks which are all designed differently with amazing views. Biking and walking path are shared, and some bikers tend to be aggressive, thinking the path belongs to them. Its easier to get hurt by a bike than someone walking. They seem to forget that.
