Great concept and location, I really liked the Chardonnay. I think it’s a huge missed opportunity for them to not have any hot food or drinks in the fall weather for the movie nights. We were bundled up good but a hot chocolate or tea from stop and shop would’ve been an easy sell. I was told they do mulled wine sometimes which again would’ve been great as well. That said though, service was great and quick and we would definitely come back.
I was riding down the back roads which I haven't done in so long.
I passed this vineyard a long time now. I also fish the harbor right behind it but I've never actually gone inside.
Which is a real shame. So today I decided to just stop and check it out.
It's really wonderful to stand and look at the 1690 home . such a nice view from the parking lot as it looks down the vineyard into the harbor.
You walk to the front door and it feels like you should knock. But I didn't I just walked in and my goodness the interior is nothing that I expected What a beautiful space What a wonderful job they did to the inside.
That foyer is just really so cool I love how it mixes the modern as well as the farmhouse styles together.
To the right there is a really quiet seating area. Is air conditioning so it's cool inside and it was very humid outside although nice you could definitely notice when you walked back out the door how humid it really was and how well climate control the inside space is.
To the left is where the bar. I was greeted promptly by one of the bartenders. They're all so nice.
I just kept walking around and coming back and asking them questions and they were very cordial and very attentive to my questions and inquiries.
I'm glad I kept asking because I never would have found out that in 1850, the farm was owned by Shep Jones, first cousin of Long Island’s famous genre painter, William Sidney Mount.
Mount used the farm’s barns in three of his famous paintings including “Dance of the Haymakers” painted at the farm in 1845.
This is an important connection to the area. I went to Mount elementary school so it's really nice to place a painting in a space that I knew known my whole life that it was painted right here pretty cool.
I will definitely be back here to sample some of the wraps that they have as well as some of the wine and sit overlooking the the vineyard.
They had board games in the corner if you want to do that as well pretty cool.
Also for a fun ride to get here take Shep Jones lane from 25 a It's paved but then it comes into Avalon hiking trails so drive slow but it's a dirt trail that we leave you almost to where this is situated. It doesn't feel like you can drive through there but you can. You can also park and walk the trails afterwards or before.
Definitely visit this gem 💎 hidden and nestled among the trees and the winding roads to get here.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience. The drive to the vineyard was scenic and serene, setting a perfect tone for the day. The vineyards themselves are stunning, offering a picturesque setting that immediately captures your attention.
Upon arrival, my friends and I decided to indulge in their wine flights. The selection was impressive, and each wine we sampled was delightful. The cost for both the wine and food came to about $37 per person, which felt reasonable given the quality and ambiance.
One of the highlights of Harmony Vineyards is the breathtaking view from the edge of the vineyards. It's truly something you have to see in person to appreciate fully, as photos simply don't capture its full beauty.
I did notice some mixed reviews here, but our personal experience was highly enjoyable.
We didn’t know a vineyard was closer than the east end! A beautiful 1690 home redone as a local vineyard nestled in the Head of Harbor area of Stonybrook/St. James. A great find.
Two things you want to know - due to location they know they are unique and so do charge a little more, however we discovered a flight between us and an ample appetizer was about 30. They do have lunch items which is more than most wineries offer. They have a short list of wines but are a unique selection that will please any palate.
Second, make that reservation on the website. It was hot and we didn’t get an umbrella. They have plenty of seating on the grass and in the shade.
You will love the view of the harbor.
Had the best time and event here on a Saturday in August. Hosted about 25 people for a graduation party on the outdoor terrace, overlooking the large lawn and vines. Water view as well.
Nita was amazing the entire time during the planning process, answering all my questions and providing recommendations to help bring my vision to life. Everyone had such a great time and they couldn’t stop commenting on the ambiance and how quaint and cute the vineyard was. It’s truly a gem. Low key, homey, and beautiful.
Staff and servers were so sweet and professional. And all the food that they cater in was really good as well- we did wraps, and a bunch of different small plates.
Would recommend this place to anyone for either a hosted event or just to stop by and spend the day enjoying the wine.
