One of the best parks in hemstead new york. I come there most of the times,😍😍😍 I take my bikes with me and my son and wife,
I've been told about this gem for a couple years now. It took me too long to explore its beauty. Truly a wonderful escape in the Hempstead area. So peaceful and majestic. All the usual state park amenities for BBQ, sports etc. The lake makes it a bit more special though. I was there close to Sunset on a Wednesday. Such a great way to close out the day.
This is a multi-use path is for walkers, joggers, cyclists, and horses. Leashed dogs are permitted. The clean path is wide for easy passing or walking side by side. The footing is good but can get muddy if it rains a lot. The walk around the lake is 3 miles. Parking in Field 5 is easy. There is another lot across from the Southern State Parkway on Eagle Avenue. I discovered beautiful trails that are clearly marked there.
Always liked this park. Went there many times for picnic and other events. It’s beautiful and clean. The lake is nearby and easy to access. Great for all ages people.
A variety of activities available to visitors of all abilities. hiking trails, boating, equestrian trails, a visitor center, picnic areas, tennis courts, playground, and pretty much everything you could expect to find out of park. The visitor center has a very modern feel, although small square footage.
