I was originally planning to go to Voodoo Crab but decided to try Hook & Reel instead because they offer boiled eggs in the seafood boil. I should’ve just stuck with my first choice.
For appetizers, I ordered the fried calamari and steamed oysters. The calamari portion was tiny (maybe 15–20 pieces total) and the oysters were seemingly inedible. The texture felt off, and my friend and I didn’t bother finishing them because we don’t play around with questionable seafood.
The boil itself was… fine. Nothing special, definitely nothing worth going out of your way for, and to make it worse it arrived lukewarm instead of hot. The sweet tea ended up being the best thing I had, which tells you everything you need to know.
The workers are very kind and attentive, I just wish the food was better especially for the price.
Came in after I had a terrible experience at Hook & Reel in Hicksville today. The host was very nice, and we got a table as soon as we came in. Our server Gabby was amazing and made sure everything was good with our order , as well as a gentleman who checked on us. The crab legs and shrimp were perfectly cooked and came out quickly, so delicious. I’m happy I didn’t give up on hook and reel because I would definitely recommend THIS location!
My Daughter and I decided to sit at the bar and have a drink. We were greeted by Gabby. We ordered 2 drinks that by far were the best drinks we've ever had!! I had a cosmo and my daughter had a margarita...they were so so good!
We ended up having dinner. Gabby had recommended a few choices and we were very satisfied with our food.
We will definitely be back, and look forward to having Gabby as our bartender/server.
This place is amazing…. The staff is great. Big shout out to our server Damion L. My daughter and I had a good time.
The food was AMAZING!!!! Flavorful in every aspect. I brought my parents for the first time and they fell in love. Cajun fries are well seasoned, atmosphere was welcoming, clear opened space, very attentive with customer service. We loved the experience and great food. Definitely will be coming back.
