Isbirian Rugs has been such a godsend to me! 🙏 Moved from the city earlier this year and you might say that I have become a “frequent flier” of Isbirian Rugs ever since. Not only does Mark (the owner of this Atelier) have a broad array of rugs to peruse, but he is so so knowledgeable about anything having to do with rugs: history of designs, repairs, spotting past repairs (good and bad), cleaning, etc. Knowledge of Oriental rugs pulse through this guys veins! And unlike some proprietors, he is honest as the day is long, and a pleasure to chat with. His assistant, Ian, is a lovely fellow who happily helps you to your car, carrying your rug. Sweet guys!

But it wasn’t until I tried to remove a stain on an old, cherished rug of my own this fall that I came to understand just what a Master of antique rugs Mark is. I went to him exasperated after a DIY stain removal gone wrong. I decided to bring him the companion rug, too, to the stained one for his opinion on a tear and breakdown of the base. A few weeks later the stained rug was beautifully-cleaned, and the companion rug was repaired and cleaned in such a way that had transformed it entirely.

When I got the rugs home and placed back where they belong was when I really recognized what a high-quality cleaning, and repair can do. Both rugs just GLOWED. The colors shone much brighter and popped against the darker, now more luxurious tones and the cream and peachy-pink hues threw more light and offset the color and tonality of the rug. Wowza!

The rugs were so soft to the touch and just loftier underfoot in a way that I didn’t anticipate. I am in the process of choosing other rugs that I will take to Mark for cleaning and repair. I’m so grateful to have found Mark and Isbirian! 💕

Mark was a pleasure to do business with. He cleaned and restored a family heirloom Heriz rug and it’s looking better than it has in decades. His pricing is more than fair and he’s fun to talk to. His shop is also filled with lots of wonderful rugs that are fun to look at. I will be back and recommend his shop to friends and family.

Isbirian Rugs did an amazing job cleaning our Persian rugs. They also did a few repairs, and the rugs look great. Pick up and delivery were timely and efficient. Overall we are very satisfied.
