Dr Kaplan is a very nice and good Dr but the wait times are unbearable. I take my mom here about once a month and we never wait less than 1 hour and 1/2. It has happened 4 times in a row, no matter what time the appt is. I wish it was better.
Dr. Kaplan gives such great care & concerned to her patients. She is amazing...and lets not forget the warm welcome from her staff Ms. Olga & Ma. Alisha...who are awesome & always welcoming...
Dr Kaplan is the most loving, kind, caring doctor I’ve ever dealt with. My mother suffers from multiple conditions that effect her vision. Dr. Kaplan took the time to coordinate her extremely complex condition with 4 other doctors on multiple occasions. Her skill, competence and professionalism are beyond measure. She is a fantastic diagnostician. Dr Kaplan is the whole package. Even her staff is wonderful: kind, helpful and efficient. She is a true blessing. I recommend her unreservedly.
Frustration with long wait times at previous ophthalmologists' offices is what led me to Dr. Kaplan ten years ago. They all appeared to operate the same way, seemingly making appointments with several patients for the same exact time. That meant crowded waiting rooms and wait times that very often were over an hour long, only to be seen by the doctor for no more than a few minutes before being pushed out the door to make room for the next patient on the production line.
When I could take it no longer, I asked my PCP to recommend some ophthalmologists and that is how I found Dr. Kaplan. And what a breath of fresh air she has been!
Her office staff is friendly, helpful and quite competent in what they do and they all seem to care about each and every patient not just as patients but as people. Wait times are rarely more than ten or fifteen minutes and I have never had any trouble making appointments. Generally, I will schedule appointments far enough in advance so as to get the exact date and time I want, but I also have had some emergencies -- one even which occurred late in the afternoon -- and I have always been able to get last minute, same-day appointments for them.
Dr. Kaplan is a Glaucoma specialist and she has been caring for my eyes, keeping the pressure well-controlled. She is personable and takes the time to explain things. I have felt completely comfortable asking her questions and discussing my eye care and have never felt rushed.
Dr. Kaplan runs an exceptional practice. She has expertly controlled my Glaucoma and managed my eye health these past ten years and, to boot, she has an office staff that is second to none.
I have been seeing Dr Kaplan for 9 years now, and once or twice a year I go in for a series of tests. Recently, one of them had revealed a worsening condition that, without those tests, would have gone totally unnoticed since there are no obvious symptoms. Nothing obvious that is, until some late night, when the symptoms will quickly shoot past the merely obvious and into the realm of dangerously severe. Dr Kaplan showed me the test results and explained to me what they indicated, reminding me that she had discussed this with me a couple of years ago when she first saw the very early warning signs of this condition. She had been keeping a watchful eye over it and these test results now showed a change that had the potential for a sudden medical emergency with a risk of permanent vision loss. We scheduled an Iridotomy for the following week. The procedure was quick, painless and completely effective. It confirmed my confidence in Dr Kaplan's expertise and experience.
This review would not be complete without mentioning her wonderful office staff: Olga, Cheryl and Ilyssa. Many doctors are oblivious to the importance of a pleasant and competent staff, but Dr Kaplan gets it. She has assembled a group of people that work well together to create an efficient, patient-friendly environment.
I highly recommend Dr Kaplan.
