Did not actually go to church. Only went to their Lentin Fish Fry which was good.
This domed Greek Orthodox Church dedicated to the Mother Of God is full of stunning mosaic and traditional iconography and has been a beacon and spiritual home of the greek faithful and an important part of the Poughkeepsie community for many decades. The priest and parishioners are very welcoming. Services are conducted in both Greek and English. The 2nd generation of parishioners are mostly English speaking and more ethnically diverse. There are many families and plenty of youth programs to participate in. Adults have lots of groups to join in for volunteering and socializing. The annual festival is always big hit. All in all its a vibrant community.
Greek festival never disappoints with fresh delicious Authentic Greek foods. Great music, great food, Great time.
They have there Greek Day on Father's Day weekend and I look forward to it every year. And it is a nice spot to just sit and reflect on life. Very friendly, very patient with questions galore and a lovely place overall.
