My Fiancé and I dined here on Friday November 14th, 2025 - and to summarize in one word - Lovely. The atmosphere, the staff, and of course the food is the perfect treat for any occasion. Whether a family night with your children, a gathering of a few friends, or a romantic date of any age - Mello has a great flavor variety with a very friendly and inviting ambiance. Pricing is reasonable and fair. And you truly get the family run experience when you dine here. The Chef is a culinary artist and craftsman. Please pay this family spot a visit and you will have a wonderful night out.
Recently hosted a party there in the back room & Mello & the gang were the best! They were absolutely pleasant to work with throughout the entire process! But not only was the service amazing the food was equally as good! Highly recommend for a 20+ people party, the room was perfectly sized to still feel cozy but more then enough room to move around freely! & on top of that maybe you can even purchase Christopher’s ( Mellos sons) new cook book called the The Chefs Playbook!
I recently hosted a party in the back room, and everything was absolutely amazing! The team was so organized and easy to communicate with leading up to the event. Setting up and decorating went incredibly smoothly, and the dinner itself was phenomenal. The chef and wait staff were extremely attentive and incredibly kind. Everything turned out even better than I could have imagined. i wish i had more pictures to share to show about nice the back room was. I will definitely be back and will be recommending this place to everyone!
Mello Bistro can be described as a hidden gem in Staten Island. We drove in from Brooklyn to try out a place with 5.0 stars (which seemed almost too good to be true) This place did not disappoint. I cannot say that every item was bursting with added flavors, but I can say that every single bite was fresh and delightful. I did not feel at all thirsty after the meal which means they did not put a crazy amount of flavor enhancers in their food. This is a family owned business that makes their customers feel at home. Shout out to Romulo for successfully serving all the tables at once, and making drinks in the midst of all of this!
I just discovered Mello Bistro on Staten Island — a cozy and charming little restaurant with seating designed mainly for 2 to 4 people. The food was good and the service was friendly and attentive. A perfect spot for a casual date or quiet meal with a friend..
If I had to deduct any points, it would be for the room temperature. It was quite warm during my visit (early June), and the A/C hadn't been turned on yet. Hopefully that gets addressed soon, especially as the weather heats up. I definitely will come back again!
