Such an amazing place to see a football game!!! The history of West Point just jumps out at you no matter which way you turn! It looks like they are adding some suites to the stadium. Most likely for high level visitors. When you were in the area, don't forget to visit the old chapel and cemetery! Such amazing history there!
Great stadium. Stadium announcer is not good and they play way too much music the entire game. More like a circus than a football stadium. Beautiful field. Grotesquely overpriced food. You can’t beat the history all around you though.
What a beautiful stadium, unfortunately its not finished with renovations, but still a great atmosphere! Beautifully placed with great views of field as well as surrounding landscape.the sound of the canons echoing throughout the stadium is incredible.I will definitely visit again.
All good things must come to an end. Michie Stadium, once home to one of the legendary views in all of sports has inexplicably given in to capitalism, and blocked off the view of the Hudson River.
Across from the bleachers The Military Academy is building another set of stands. While the construction isn't complete, it looks like this will be nothing but luxury boxes and suites, ensuring that the wealthiest donors and most connected politicians see the beautiful Hudson.
Meanwhile, the parents of the cadets, who will one day, defend our nation, can stand in 10 minute lines for limited concessions and a view of suited corporate fat cats, pressing the flesh for a new defense contract.
The joy is supposed to be in the pageantry of the USMA. However, interminable lines for tickets and concessions limit your enjoyment, as you are guaranteed to miss a significant portion of the game.
There is a Fenway quality to Michie- the architectural quirks are part of its charm. But a creative mind could do a lot to enhance its charm.
Regrettably, no one creative seems to be on staff, and they are simply building the appalling monstrosity on the visitors side.
Michie Stadium was well-organized and the staff was friendly. The women's bathroom line was incredibly fast.
They sold beer, although I had heard it was a dry stadium.
The history and tradition is really fun to experience.
