First time at jury duty, not a bad experience :)

This is a general warning. If you are calling with anything complex, don't let them transfer you in circles forever. There is a whole lot of "that's not my job" mentality among the administrative staff and clerks. Follow the transfer circle once, figure out who is supposed to do what, then demand a supervisor if they tell you it isn't their job... It's a Karen move, but unfortunately there are quite a few bureaucrats working there who need to be held to the fire to get them to do their jobs. There are also many people working there who are very helpful so don't start out rude or take offence right away. Your "bureaucrat enemy" may also become your best ally if you give them the chance.

Also, if you aren't from Long Island, they may come across as incredibly rude. Most of the time they don't mean it that way. That is just how Long Islanders and NYC people talk to each other. It's not personal it is just their "culture".

    Good luck.
