So, where is the park? I got a fence surrounding undeveloped woods, a couple of benches, yes a cool little gym, a "creek" that is eerily dried up and really dirty. Oh and I got mosquito bites. But no where green to go sit in the sun or even a path off the main perimeter. What went wrong here.
Unlike Castle Hill Park, where it just feels like a trail along the countryside, this park truly makes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Thick trees and the sounds of nature really add to the ambiance. It has a much longer trail than the aforementioned park, and at one point, you can experience an even better view of Pugsley Creek (which is very appropriate, hence this park's name). There is also a fitness area and sports courts. But I do not recommend going through this park in the dark cause certain areas of the park are pitch black cause of the trees.
Great little park with bike lanes, walking paths and places to sit. There is a basketball court and outdoor gym. Too many feral cats ! They disrupt the wildlife here . Bird lovers can see many shore birds and song birds. You will love to take a walk and see some wildlife right in the Bronx ! I went on a long walk with binoculars and saw 21 species of birds in one evening !
Adjacent to Soundview ferry sits this amazing scenery // place of relaxation. Here you can view the Whitestone bridge, soundview ferry coming in and out of dock and experience the culture(s) that exist at the doorsteps of this amazing park!
This is where they started up the ferry to Manhattan. We took a walk to see the new ferry stop and it's absolutely beautiful the sights. They have the schedule up for you to see and check which time would fit your schedule. People at the dock to help you on & off the ferry and a machine to purchase your tickets right there. Very convenient. If you want to take your bike it's only a dollar extra.
