Rockefeller Fountain

The Rockefeller Fountain, situated in the Bronx Zoo, is a breathtaking Italian masterpiece crafted by sculptor Biagio Catella in 1872. Originally located in Como, Italy, it was purchased by William Rockefeller in 1902 and installed at the zoo in 1903. The fountain is really beautiful during the spring and summer time. It’s located inside the Bronx Zoo, you can access easier to the fountain if you enter from the Fordham Gate of the Zoo. If arriving through public transportation you can take the Bx12,Bx12SBS,Bx9,Bx19,Bx22 buses and take a short 5-7 minute walk to the Fordham Entrance.
The exhibits closest to the fountain is World of Birds, Sea Bird Aviary, Aquatic Bird House,Birds of Prey and Madagascar. Also another hot spot near the fountain is the SEA LIONS!! Definitely check them out they have the Sea Lion Feedings daily at 11a.m and 3p.m. It’s also wheelchair accessible. There’s stairs but to the sides there are paths if you can’t or don’t want to take the stairs.
