Going to start off by saying I came to this dry cleaner because I read the reviews about quality and quick turnaround. I dropped off a jacket and a sweater, both came back in good shape. I am giving two stars because of the lackluster customer service. When I went in for my drop off, I greeted everyone when I walked in - everybody just looked up at me and groaned - I brushed it off as maybe they were having a bad day. When I went in for the pick up, again - no greeting - just a very stern “Give me your ticket” followed by having my two items basically tossed at me. Deep diving into the reviews, seems others have a very similar experience with staff being rude/apprehensive. Would not be returning and definitely will not recommend.

Best Dry Cleaners I've ever used! I used to live in the area and now they're completely out of my way but I will always use them. Dan and Fran brought my shirt and tie back from the dead after my little boy went all "Exorcist" on me. Thank you!!

I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Nick, who shared the history of Romano Cleaners with me. It’s a proud, family-owned, multi-generational business—and after hearing his story, I have tremendous respect for the dedication and integrity behind it. Nick is a kind, straightforward professional who clearly values honesty and takes great pride in ensuring every customer is completely satisfied.

Living in the Fresh Meadows area, I’ve tried a couple of local dry cleaners, but unfortunately had bad experiences. Both places damaged my jeans and shirts, and when I brought it up, the response was simply, “It’s cheaper here, so we do it like that.”

For example, when hemming jeans, there’s a specific technique involving a 1/4” to 1/2” fold to maintain the original look and structure. The local cleaners did a poor and sloppy job with this, showing little attention to detail. In contrast, Romano Cleaners takes the time to do things the right way, ensuring quality and precision every time.

I’m truly glad I found Romano Cleaners—they stand out for their professionalism, skill, and care. Nick and his team are exceptional, and I’m proud to support a family-owned business that never cuts corners. This was my fourth visit, and I plan on recommending them to all my friends and family.

I've been using Romano Drive in Cleaners for many years while I lived in the area. Very friendly staff, especially Fran and Dan, and they make a point of knowing your name too. I recently moved away from the neighborhood to East Setauket, some 56 miles east. I tried to locate a cleaners close by, and there were a few that are located near by. None of them could press my shirts the way I wanted. Heavy Starch is my preference. Countless times I requested they pay attention to this. I gave up, and now I gave returned to Romano's once a week to drop off my shirts, and happy to drive the 56 miles. My first day back, I was greeted by Fran and Dan. Two great employees who never forgot my name after 6 months away. Frank

What seemed like an impossible multi stain removal job on my garment that was both linen and leather turned out to be a miraculous revival!

Before taking in the garment the staff at Romano's discussed with me their observations and warned me what may occur. As I was willing to take the risk we proceeded and Paul treated multiple yellow stains on a white linen blazer and preserved the leather piping throughout. Excellent job, wonderful customer service and very reasonably priced. Thank you!
