This place is so far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The National seashore VC sits just above the marina with a classic porch (veranda). The orange Adirondack chairs are very comfy and there is fresh, potable water from the drinking fountain / bottle tap. The VC has limited staffed hours given severe budgetary pressures at the NPS. There are good leaflets available outside to the right of the double doors. If you go inside they feature National seashore souvenirs, a compact exhibit on the history of the national seashore, and a table for kids to explore some of the sea and beach creatures. Don’t forget the Junior Ranger book!

Probably my favorite place to take the boat. The gift shop is stocked with necessities, branded clothing and snacks, including ice cream. The visitors center provides maps of the trails and the park, as well as many learning displays and a shallow pool with critters. Great park to spend a beautiful day!

Steve the guy that runs the whole place is an awesome dude. He and his staff are very accommodating and will go above and beyond to make your trip to SH a wonderful time. And they just got their liquor license so they are pouring some nice frosty drinks!

My favorite place on earth. Quite and naturally beautiful. Sunrises are spectacular. Don't come here if your looking for "night life".
