I obsessively researched nursing home facilities in Westchester and visited Salem Hills/Waterview 3 years ago when my mother could no longer live at home. The reviews were great but I selected a different assisted living facility that LOOKED so much nicer. It WAS a beautiful facility but I ended up having to pay the monthly cost AND hire a full time private aid for my mom costing about $20K a month. Plus she wasn't healthy enough to use the beautiful facilities. A year ago, I had her transferred to Salem Hills and they took SUCH AMAZING care of her!!! The cost ended up being a few thousand dollars less than assisted living but the best part is Salem Hills STAFF!! Everyone who works there goes above and beyond for the people in their care. My family and I were brought to tears with the loving attention they gave her. Having to put a family member in any facility is a heart wrenching situation that's never a "lovely & happy" visit but our minds were put at ease getting constant updates on her health and well being. I spent a lot of time there, and while my presence was unknown, I witnessed nurses and aides treating patients with kindness, compassion and dignity. Our mother passed away a few weeks ago and they even made that process easier. We could not be happier with the facility.
I have read the Positive Reviews of the facility ! That is why I moved my Mom there at first it was as great as the Reviews Lauren was great and really had a hold on the unit . As far as smelling good I guess the person writing that review did not go to the second floor where the rug starts the smell is Horrible . I don’t think any elderly
person with the fear / Anxiety of being alone should always be in her Bed away from others and Cry inconsolably and be brushed off . I have witnessed through facetime a heartbreaking evening she had They are immune to the cries and panic attacks these people have doesn’t make it right to leave someone in her bed due to her disabilities having a full anxiety attack and crying on her Birthday ! Get the proper help through psych because this isn’t normal and she is left with no voice the isolation in her room even before covid outbreak sets her off ! The answer is not she dies this when she’s upset have a plan not let her deal with it alone . Eating in bed with her head of the bed not raised was really a safety issue , I was told staff helps with feeding but that is not true Please get your act together .
My sister is there ,she gets great care. She's always very clean. The workers are so friendly & helpful. My sister could not get any better care than here.
Salem Hills became my mom Mickey’s home almost two years ago. My family cannot say enough about this wonderful place we call my moms home Clean, great food. The staff is wonderful, caring and loving. My mom is so attended to on a daily basis. Thank you everyone who makes my mom ‘s life their life work. We rest easy knowing she is so well taken care of! Thank you. Thank you!.
Could not have been happier with my families experience at Salem Hills. We were treated kindly and always taken care of. The staff were extremely helpful, especially John. W in rehab. I would recommend Salem Hills rehab facility to anyone looking for a comforting place for a member of their family!
