I just saw Dr. Liza Levin at Dr. Kaplan's office and felt compelled to write a review because she is excellent! It was probably the best bedside manner I've experienced in years. She was warm, knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable during a mole check. I'm so excited that I found her! Would definitely recommend Dr. Levin.

Dr. Sherri Kaplan is an exceptional dermatologist and I am happy with her care. I had a problem with her staff today though. I originally had an appointment in July 2019. It was a followup from my annual checkup which was on January 15, 2019. By the time July came around, I felt I didn't need to followup (my face was fine), so I called to cancel and when I did, I also set up an appointment for my annual checkup for January 20, 2020. I purposely set it up on this day because I knew I would be off for MLK Day.

When I arrived today, the woman sitting at the front desk told me I wasn't scheduled for an appointment. I told her I made the appointment in July when I canceled my followup. I asked who was the staff member who canceled my appointment in July when I called? She pointed at her colleague and said, "She did." I then spoke to that woman. She told me that I never called in July, that I canceled my July appointment on January 15, 2019. I said that doesn't make sense. Why would I cancel a followup appointment the same day I was here for my annual exam and made the appointment? She rolled her eyes, laughed a little and called another colleague over to look at her computer screen and confirm that I was supposedly incorrect. She tried to gaslight me! I told her that someone screwed up and didn't want to own up to it. A error was made because I definitely called in July. Computers are only as reliable as the person inputting the information.

I was really upset because I waited over 6 months for this appointment and I traveled from the North Bronx. And never once did anyone offer an apology for the mix-up or even show the least bit of empathy. So from now on, I will be saving the appointment card and/or getting the name of the person I make the appointment with. I recommend everyone do the same.

My former dermatologist who does lots of TV and magazine spots, referred me to Dr. Kaplan (her own dermatologist) after finding and removing a Basal Cell on my back.

To say I am impressed with Dr. Kaplan would be an understatement. I am not one to write a review, however Dr. Kaplan is practicing at the top of her field, and in my many years going to see a dermatologist I have yet to meet another doctor who even comes close to her level of care.

Worth noting the doctors I have seen in the past have been well acclaimed, yet Dr. Kaplan seems to operate on a completely different level. Her degree of professionalism and kindness married together are what make her such a great doctor. She utilizes technology which enables to maintains more precise and in depth analysis of each patient's unique history which is so comforting. Especially when Melanoma runs in ones family. Another reviewer complained about waiting too long for the doctor and although I understand waiting can be frustrating -- the blessing for that reviewer is that she was indeed waiting to see one of the best, if not the best, doctor in NY!!! Thank you, Dr. Kaplan!
