I have mixed feelings about our experience at St Catherine’s . My father was there for a year and a half . My family and i visited a couple of times a week .
I’ll start off by saying be prepared to be gaslight by the medical staff . I knew each time my father had an infection . I could tell by his demeanor. For example I would be told he was tired because of the weather and a week later he would be in the ER with sepsis . Another example is getting a full body rash and mistakenly being treated for shingles when we knew it was an allergic reaction to a genetic medication . Again winding up in the ER and spending a week in the hospital . Mind you he was only sent to the ER after we demanded he get medical treatment. Other infections included numerous UTI’s and two more battles with sepsis. He was also again hospitalized for an improper insertion of his Foley catheter hitting his prostrate and causing internal bleeding. Thank god I was there at that time he probably would have bleed out in his sleep .
He was over medicated and dehydrated . We later read he was given 3 types of laxatives daily even on a puree diet .
In order to fight off all these reoccurring infections he had to be put on strong IV antibiotics which isn’t healthy for anyone but because of his will for life he was able to pull threw .
Unfortunately the last was too strong . He had Mrsa in his bloodstream from cross contamination probably threw the foley and sadly he passed away .
Ironically i just read a review from this month of a patient saying they were moved from my father’s unit into isolation because of Mrsa .
All it took was one incompetent member of the nursing staff to take his life after 9 days in ICU .
On a positive note there are some good people that work there . The ladies at the front desk were always lovely and helpful .
He had two wonderful aids that we could rely on . Bessy and Milindy . They both really cared about my father’s wellbeing . I always felt better knowing Bessy was with my dad and I’ve never seen a person work harder than Milindy . She ran the whole floor by herself and when she wasn’t there the place was chaos . She really should be praised and I can’t thank her enough for her care.
I have some negative incidents that happened with other aids but it’s basic nursing home care that happens everywhere
My father also had a very nice private room that was always kept very clean
    RIP 🙏🏻

My mom was admitted here first in the rehab section and then we moved her upstairs to the nursing care section. I have to say her level of care is very good. The staff the nurses the Aides are very caring, attentive and helpful my communication as a family member they answer me promptly And follow up on all my requests. You always question yourself if you’re doing the right thing putting a loved one in a facility, but I can’t praise them enough. For the quality of care, my mom has received nothing is perfect but I know my mom is in good hands.

My Aunt has been in here for about 2 years now, and it's been a steady downhill slide she was admitted. Initially, the staff were regulars, took good care of her and you could call at any time and get answers on how she was doing, not any longer. If we could we would remove her from this place as she deserves better, rumors at the place are that it has been sold and also seems dangerous mentally unstable people are now being admitted. For ~13K a month base fee plus all the add on's the care should be outstanding and it's no where near that any more
