This is the best Asian food I've ever had! They have such a diverse menu and the food is amazing. This is the only place in the area I know has duck and it's amazing. This is now out go-to spot for Asian food.
So, after many years of driving past this place, this weekend, I decided to stop in. Man, am I glad I did! The look of the restaurant isn't really all that appealing, but wow, the food is really good! We ordered egg rolls, chinese buns, pork and chives dumplings, spicy shrimp, and veggies (fried), and the star of the show, the duck!
The egg rolls were crispy yet moist with a nice flavor. I cut it in two pieces, and you can feel the crispy shell and see the steam coming off the cabbage filling!
The chinese buns were nicely made. They were basically churros without the sugar, I enjoyed them very much!
The pork and chives dumplings were delicious! It was quite a delicate flavor on their own, but coupled with their soy sauce, the flavor picked up a couple of notches. The soy sauce seemed different from what I'm used to. It seemed to have a little more of a vinegar finish; it was different but pleasant.
The spicy shrimp and veggies, all fried, was quite enjoyable. It is spicy, so your enjoyment of this dish will depend on your tolerance. I thought the flavor profile was quite nice. One thing of note, for me anyway, I would prefer a bit less dough on the shrimp itself, but overall, a good dish.
Lastly, the star of the show for me at least was the duck. This dish was spectacular for me! It was incredibly crispy and fatty seasoned to perfection! I had it with white rice, and I touched it with a bit of duck sauce for that sweetness, and it was just incredible! Needless to say, I'll be ordering it again.
Overall, this is a family restaurant offering authentic Chinese food with a quiet atmosphere. It's kid friendly and should be on your list for a visit.
If you want some authentic food, then you need to go here. Holy smokes their dumplings were awesome; my kiddos absolutely loved them.
It’s a small mom-pop shop, so don’t expect fast service, but certainly appreciate the care and quality when they took care of us as customers. And the dessert presentation was a great way to finish the meal. Will definitely stop by again!
Excellent authentic Chinese food. They specialize in delicious Chinese food you'd only find in NYC. Although they do have the common dishes that you see at regular Chinese take out joints, the star of the show are their szechuan dishes. Hard to find kang-kong (water spinach) upstate, which was great that they have it here. Will definitely come back to try everything else in the menu.
This is a true hidden gem in middletown, the place advertises as authentic Chinese cuisine, from my experience, the food is great, it’s definitely not your typical take out Chinese place. One thing I can say to improve on is the lack of staff - we entered the place and we had to look for the staff to assist us, they’re all in the back kitchen and front was left unattended. From first picture : Fish in clay pot , double cooked pork, and fish griddle.
