Rachel and I have worked together for 2 years, and she's changed the way I related to my voice, breath, and body (all so important in singing!). She has a great sense of humor, a way of helping students understand the singing-body connection through visuals and somatic exercises, and an intuitive sense of what is or isn't working for her students. I LOVE working with her and can't recommend her enough.
Rachel is the best voice coach and singing teacher ever! Her ability to guide healthy and supported vocal practices is truly masterful.
I started with Rachel when I began studying as a soloist. Previously I had sung in choirs and musicals, but never as a soloist. With weekly lessons, my vocal abilities jumped through the roof and I’m now performing professionally as a solo singer in NYC.
Rachel also was extremely helpful in decoding Flamenco (Spanish folklore) technique with me and has helped me feel strong and supported in my technique for this challenging vocal style.
Rachel is the voice coach you’ve been searching for!
Our daughter L has been studying voice with Rachel for a few years now and they have a wonderful teacher/ student relationship. L started with her when she was about 12, and we've seen her voice control grow immensely. Rachel is always warm and encouraging, and her feedback is clear and actionable. Whenever I've had concerns or questions, she has made herself available to me, and her responses are detailed and thoughtful. She has even provided space for students to perform for one another online, which really boosted L's confidence.
When L was admitted to LaGuardia, we felt greatly indebted to Rachel!
My singing voice and my confidence in it has significantly changed after just a few lessons with Rachel. Particularly, one audition directly after working on a song I've struggled with: I applied the adjustments she gave me to start, and performed said song better than I ever have. It didn't even feel like me singing, that's how effortlessly the song came out! Rachel provides a safe and collaborative environment, and explores all the ins and outs of what works for you and your voice. The simplest adjustment makes such a huge difference. Affordable, great quality lessons with a wonderful instructor. Thank you Rachel!
I couldn’t recommend Rachel enough. I was going through such a tough time as a vocalist with swollen nodes. Rachel taught me everything I’d been doing wrong for years. Who knew that being a naturally good singer you would still need a vocal coach! She taught me better posture, helpful warm-ups, and the atmosphere she provides in her Park Slope home is warm and welcoming. I’ve recommended her to a few of my friends who needed a few sessions to prepare for shows. Whether you need a coach for occasional lessons or a long-term mentor, Rachel is a great person to call! Will definitely be seeing her more in the future. All the shows I’ve done since seeing her have been noticeably better and she’s just so amicable how could I not return?
