Elmwood Day School

Our family is so grateful to have found Elmwood. They create a warm and engaging atmosphere. Our kids have thrived socially and academically. They offer a wide range of captivating activities and the kids come home with all sorts of new knowledge and interests. There is no other place we would feel such ease leaving our babies.

We are beyond thrilled our experience at Elmwood Day School! Our son began school this year with never having separated from us. With the support of his teachers and the directors, his transition and growth has truly been amazing. The staff at Elmwood create such a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported and excited to learn each day. It is extremely clear that Elmwood values the whole child and understands child development. The activities are engaging and thoughtful, balancing appropriate educational activities with play and social interaction. The children feel like they are part of a family when they are at school. The grounds are truly special - each day my son can't wait to go to school. We are so grateful for this special place and highly recommend it!

We have the most wonderful memories from our time at Elmwood. Our two boys got to experience their preschool years there plus Kindergarten. As an early childhood educator myself, I was looking for that magical place for learning and play and I couldn’t design a better preschool than Elmwood. They understand so well how to help kids feel safe, loved and known, and kids thrive when they feel this. Elmwood makes learning FUN through creative play and experiential learning. They have a well established curriculum including phonics, handwriting, math and science. My kids brought home endless creative multi-dimensional art projects and came home singing new songs each week. The teachers here are opposite of lazy; they put in a considerably visible amount of effort into their curriculum planning, activities and engagement with the children, and while the children have the best time, you can tell the teachers also have a blast! With small class sizes, the teachers get to know each child well and know exactly how to support them academically and emotionally. Each teacher I’ve come across has gone above and beyond to partner with us, offering open lines of communication. My heart still aches when I think about our time at Elmwood because I’m beyond grateful for the foundation and memories it gave to my kids and our family.

As a mom, there’s nothing more important to me than seeing my child happy and thriving, and that’s exactly what’s happening at Elmwood Day School. My son absolutely loves it here, and I’ve seen him grow in so many ways—academically, socially, and emotionally. The staff is so caring and truly focused on helping our kids become their best selves, with so much attention to social-emotional growth and building a strong, supportive community. Elmwood Day School feels like a second home for our family, and I can’t recommend it enough!
