Our family is so thankful for LEN. Our 4 year old son has attended LEN for 2.5 years and our 2 year old daughter has been there since she was 6 months old. The level of care that the children receive at LEN is so special and we feel that we are truly blessed to be a part of the LEN community.
We absolutely love the teachers at LEN! They take such great care of our children each day and we are always amazed at the new things that the kids are learning. Both educational things (ABCs/shapes/colors etc) but also practical developmental skills such as learning how to put on a coat or to wash your hands (big things for a 2 year old!). I often hear about teacher turnover as a big issue at other daycares when speaking with parents in the area, but it is very rare at LEN.
Nick and Saida are wonderful owners and are always looking for ideas to improve the children's experience at LEN. From simple things such as adding a sandbox for the children to enjoy sensory play, to fun family outings such as apple picking and aquarium visits, there is always something new and exciting at LEN.
The QualityStars curriculum is excellent. My 4 year old is still 9 months away from starting kindergarten but we feel that he would be ready to start now based on how much he has learned at LEN. The younger toddlers are working on sensory and motor skill activities every day and each week we are amazed at how much they have learned. The Brightwheel app is great for keeping us in the loop with what the kids are working on each day, as well as what they have to eat, how long they nap, and of course pictures and videos!
Each morning my children ask if today is a "school" day, and they are so excited Mon-Fri when the answer is yes! At the end of the day the kids are always sad to leave because they are having so much fun playing and learning. As a parent, I have also made some wonderful friends with the other parents of LEN children. We truly feel that we are part of a family with the LEN community.
If you are looking for the best daycare in Westchester, LEN is the place!
Tired of making your kids a respectfully healthy lunch EVERY SINGLE DAY? Of course you are. Sick of all the teacher turnover and a total lack of consistency? It's enough to give you whiplash at some of these spots. Want a place to bring your little people that makes you and them feel good about the day ahead? We all do.
Well, look no further.
My now 4 year-old went to three different daycares before we found LEN two years ago. My 9 month old son joined her there about two months ago. It's a small, family oriented spot. Kids of all ages spend time together and apart, like in real life. My daughter is stupendous with babies, as a result. And the younger ones love learning from the older crew. They break off and do their own thriving, age appropriate activities, of course, but it really feels like a family.
You know those places that have postage stamp sized spots of astroturf for outdoor play? Often overlooking a parking lot or highway? Well, here they run around on an acre of land twice a day, marveling at wild turkeys, groundhogs, and bunnies. They plant gardens and fruit in the spring and summer. They ride bikes, kick leaves, catch worms. They only use screens for the occasional rainy day dance party or yoga, or for once-monthly movie nights. They bake, they play soccer, they sing. They learn baby sign language and some Spanish and French, depending on the caregivers. They laugh, they cry, it really feels like a family.
Have they had some employee turnover? Every place does. But I've only seen it once in two years. At another spot we tried, they blew through underpaid teachers every two months. The curriculum at LEN is engaging, thoughtful, inclusive. The owners are dedicated, kind, smart, hard working, and actually invested in the kids' well being. It's refreshing. Are there occasional incidents between the kids? It wouldn't be childhood without it. Are those situations handled appropriately? They are.
Both of my kids are genuinely happy. And that makes me happy. It’s such a relief when drop off and pick up are happy punctuations to the days. Do yourself a favor and let LEN feed your little ones good food and camaraderie, while you cut yourself some slack. Everyone will sleep better. And isn't that what we want most in these early days of childrearing? Sweet, sweet slumber.
We have been so impressed and grateful for the team at LEN. They are thoughtful, highly responsive, responsible and, best of all, deeply committed and kind. When you have young children, pre-school becomes an extension of your home, and we couldn’t ask for better partners in this work than Saida (a PHD!!) and Nick, who understand the demands, worries and scheduling dance that is rearing kids intimately. Our children love them, Donna and Lily - my youngest (2.5yrs) runs to the door, excited to start another day at school. We love their approach to programming and how they socialize the children. Thankful to you all!
I highly recommend this daycare. I had my two sons attend their school a while back before I decided to move to Jersey. The school had a homey feel that my kids instantly felt comfortable in and the teachers and director were easily accessible on the bright wheel app. Nick was especially helpful when I was searching for child care and I never felt like he’s was just trying to sell their school but instead he was genuinely trying to help me find a good fit for my family even if it wasn’t with them. I was not able to find the same kind of quality care in Jersey but thankfully my second child is now starting public school.
