I ordered the seven curry & sweets box special for Diwali and everything was packed and shipped efficiently . The food was delicious and tasted as if it was freshly made although it was frozen. Highly recommend purchasing from them especially if you live in Florida where we’re limited on the selection of Indo-Caribbean food.
This delivery was the best thing i’ve gotten in a while. I moved to Georgia a few months ago for my job and been feeling super homesick. Them being able to ship food this quickly (literally took a day) and this far was truly amazing. And the food was soo tasteful. My next order is gonna be a whole bunch if doubles lol
I had some pastries and bread shipped to Texas. Everything was perfectly fresh and packed amazingly. As a chef here in Texas I had my doubts but I was utterly surprised by the quality and appreciate the customer service. Certainly would order again.
Thanks so much
Some things were really good but some were not. Here's the breakdown (with pictures)
The good:
1. The pumpkin is really good & is actually pumpkin--NOT butter squash like what some other restaurants try & pass off as pumpkin.
2. Phenomenal dhal--very similar to my mom's. Not overly thick like a lot of other places. Their large size is actually large unlike the "large" of many other places on Liberty.
3. Giblets were really well done (a little too salty imo)
4. This place actually puts a respectable amount of chicken in the cookup rice & chicken chow mein dishes--unlike other places where they only give you literally 2-3 pieces in a bed of carbs like they are on rations.
5. Chicken patties were really good--stuffed with the right amount of chicken to dough ratio unlike other places where when you bite in, you're wondering if the chicken escaped.
The not good:
1. The duck, goat (or lamb? I forgot), snapper curry (stew? I forgot) with egg were drowning in oil. Look at the pictures, in what world is that amount of oil okay? The oil is literally floating on top. & then people wonder why they get sick. We had to throw it all out unfortunately. Please correct this.
2. While the chow mein & cookup rice were good initially, we literally had to throw it out after the next couple days because it spoiled--slimy/sour etc. what the heck? How long are these items being kepped for in the restaurant?
Besides the dhal, pumpkin, I'm on the fence about a lot of the other hot food items--but very curious to try more of their baked goods.
I have not been in the actual restaurant in NY, but I have ordered for delivery to California twice since I found out about this shop. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the food!!! The food came packaged well and clearly labeled and FRESH! Just be prepared to wait at least 5 days after ordering for delivery (to California) for your food. But it is worth the wait.
Amazingly delicious! It feels like you are actually eating IN Guyana!
