I've experienced various lawyers over the years who ranged across a spectrum of work-ethics and ethics in general (more undfortunately on the sterotypical end of the spectrum), and I can say without a doubt that Sheena is the most competent, ethical, fair, compassionate, diligent, professional, knowledgable, detailed and committed lawyer I've ever experienced. Most recently, I worked with Sheena to finalize my divorce and I can confidently say I made it through this intense legal and emotional process because I knew I had a legal warrior like Sheena on my side. And Sheena was committed to not just me, but also my then-husband in terms of helping us move through this process in the way we desired: amicably and with respect and kindness--other lawyers we worked with through this process wanted to make things more contentious and thus, costly, so Sheena was a refreshing legal advocate for us. My former husband and I had started with a different lawyer who promised to mediate for us and move us through the difficult process, but it became apparent that he was not dedicated to us as promised and certainly not timely--although his invoices always were. I had worked with Sheena years before and had reached out to her as I was very frustrated with the previous lawyer not doing what he said and also not really advocating for me as much as my then-husband. Sheena was straightforward with her legal advice and support, and she also recognized in the midst of the meeting with her how emotionally distraught I was about what was at the core of this process--not the overwhelming decisions and paperwork but rather losing my 38 year relationship. She took time in that meeting to just take a time-out from the legal aspects and instead talk to me on an emotional level and give me the greatest pep-talk I've ever had! That fueled me more than she'll ever know to get me through this. My then-husband and I decided to work with Sheena to finalize what the other lawyer wasn't willing/able to do, and she had the process done with such professionalism, hard work, and detailed knowledge that it took the judge just one day to rule on our final agreement Sheena filed because it was so comprehensive and tight, the judge had no questions! I will forever be indebted to Sheena for her advocacy and partnership in this successful process, and I am also grateful to all the wonderful women in her office who showed equal professionalism, organization and caring.
