Rugged but we'll marked trails with lovely views along the way. A quiet and wonderful place for a hike to enjoy the lovely New England Beauty.
A challenging uphill hike, but I enjoyed it. The overlook at the top boasts a sunset view and a hikers log in a wooden box!
Challenging if you do the whole loop. From the north parking area (rt 42) take the Sanford trail. When it meets the Quinipeac trail on the the southern end, take a right and be ready to climb. You will be rewarded at the top with an exceptional view that showed us magnificent fall colors for miles. Thanks to the Connecticut Forest and Parks Association for the exceptional job they do maintaining this and numerous trails across the state. Visit CPFA.org and join.
