We have had several great experiences with Miguel since he opened Rego's. He's a skilled mechanic and has reasonable prices. We're lucky to have him Roxbury!

AMAZING SERVICE! I took my 2007 Tahoe in to Rego and he knew right away what needed to be done, he ran the diagnostics test and he was spot on. Rego explained everything to me in such a clear way, I really appreciated it. I am new to Roxbury and am so thankful to have such a great place to bring my car to. He was upfront about the cost and called when it would go slightly over his initial price, I appreciate his honest and fair pricing. Really nice guy too, I can't recommend this place enough!

    TLDR
The owner, and head technician btw, is a genius when it comes to cars. His diagnosis, and quality repair skills are the best I have seen. His prices are fair, and will work with you on different part grades if you need. He's just amazing at his job.

Now for the real thing. Miguel Rego, the owner and head technician, is truly amazing with cars. It always astounds me. Let me tell you a story of this guy's genius.

My mom's car had a check engine light. It was coming from some gas leak--not of the liquid but of the gas in gaseous form--and the mechanic we were going to couldn't figure it out and sent us to Hyundai. They tried to fix it and no one could figure it out. Both said to just change the gas cap, which we did. This happened three times. Each time, the light came on, and each time we went to both, and each time we bought a gas cap hoping this one would do the trick. Well, it never worked. I had started seeing Miguel before he got his shop, and my dad told him about my mom's car over the phone. Over the phone, just hearing the description, he said it was the EVAP motor for the gas tank. I took my mom's car there to pick up my own car and he hooked up the computer, turned these motors on and off, and listened for their activation. He found in 5 minutes the issue, and he had even diagnosed with a guess over the phone. He knew, without even having to see the car! He did the repair of the EVAP motor at a later date, and BAM. The check engine light never came back on! The craziest thing is he figured it out over the phone! Technician after technician couldn't get it right, and it took Miguel a call, and 5 minutes to test his theory, and he got it right. After this point, I knew he was a genius. I knew he was great up until then, but I truly knew after this he was genius with cars.

He has also helped me choose parts for me to order online and to then source to him. He empowers me to make that choice with suggestions on brands, and to then make a choice based on my price range. For example, I recently had to get my wife's CRV's front suspension done. I asked him how much and what range the parts would be for various qualities. He gave me the brands from worst to best and told me what site to look at to make the purchase. I went there, and saw the various products. I took into account what he said, and chose my own part quality based on my own desires, and needs. We plan on having this vehicle for quite some time, so I chose the highest quality suspension so that it will last the longest; but if I wanted or needed to, I could have chosen a cheaper part to save money. I then took this to him, and he then installed. It was great. Other times, he has ordered the part when it's a bit out of my understanding, and I simply say I want low, mid, or high grade parts. Miguel then uses that information to get the part and give the final price based on what he bought: low grade being the cheapest and high grade being the most.

All in all, Miguel Rego is the best technician, bar none. I am excited to continue to go to him and have him help me maintain our cars to keep them in tip-top shape. I highly recommend you go here, you will not regret it.
