Sushi 2020 is an absolute go to spot for me and my partner. It's a wonderful restaurant that is owned by a lovely couple who runs the entire place just by themselves! I am always floored with just how much warmth and kindness they treat us with, even on the busiest of days. Not only that, the food is made with great care and packed with tons of flavor! You can't go wrong with any of the menu items they have listed. Personally, I definitely recommend the mixed sashimi salad and Hoe-deopbap. If you're in the mood for something more warm, the Kimchi Sundu-Jigae just hits the spot. Highly recommend the Korean dumplings as well.

10/10. If you haven't visited this place, then I highly recommend that you give it a shot. I'm confident that you're going to be left with the same warm, fuzzy feeling I get after visiting Sushi 2020.

I'm from out of state and have been living in CT for around 3 years now. There's so many amazing restaurants in the area and around New Haven, but if I ever were to move away, Sushi 2020 would be the restaurant I miss most. Sushi 2020 is a cozy restaurant where everything on the menu is a delight. This restaurant is small, but in a way that feels like family. If you come here, make sure to relax and enjoy not just the food, but the experience. Jenna and her husband run this restaurant with all of the care in the world. It's a two person operation, so make sure to be kind if it gets busy! But onto the food. Everything here is delicious! One of the best things about eating here is that you may get something on a whim and find it being far more amazing then you would think. The honey citron tea is a drink that I wasn't expecting anything special from, but was blown away by the flavor when I got it. The mixed sashimi salad has a citrus dressing that gives the nicest sweetness and tang to the greens, the soy sauce will make you doubletake before realizing that it was brewed/marinated in house, and the fried dumplings will have you holding all other fried dumplings to a higher standard. If you're wondering what to order, I say you can't go wrong with anything! Their sushi is delightful and made fresh, and their Korean food will warm your heart. If you're in the mood for something to warm you up, the bulgogi stew, dolsot bibimbap, and sundubu jigae are all heartwarming. If you've driven by and thought about going but never have, take this word of advice and give it a try. Stop in, have a drink, eat great food, and enjoy the company of those around you!

Husband and wife team run a wonderful small business. Food is so fresh, the place is spotless, and they are so warm and inviting.

We had spicy pork bimbimbap, dynamite roll, chicken ramen and salmon avocado roll. The Ginger dressing is homemade and so so delicious!!!!

I’m from out of town and this place is amazing! The steamed shumai are so flavorful! I got a heart attack roll (lol) and a 2020 roll. Both were amazing! Did I mention the soy sauce is homemade? Service was over the top amazing. Can’t say enough good things about this place!!

Food and service are fantastic here!! We are always welcomed like family coming to dinner. We ordered something a little different tonight… homemade pork dumplings, a tuna and avocado roll that they serve it with their homemade soy sauce (they proudly make it themselves) 10 out of 10!! My husband ordered the spicy pork hot pot (absolutely delicious) and she even brought over a little bowl for me to try his dinner (top notch service)! I asked about the Soju’s and was given a couple samples to taste, finally settling on the Lycee Soju. Note it’s 12% by volume. The owner asked if we had any peanut allergies and after we said no, she brought over some mixed nuts to enjoy with the drink. I would say it’s something like a slightly sweetened cold saki. Fun experience!
This is a small mom and pop place that has big flavors and customer service most 5 star restaurants dream about!!
