Went there due to someone telling me my tire is loose .they took me in and checked it out for me and didnt Charge me .They are very kind and helpful . Would absolutely recommend them
Ive had to stop here three times in the last month, all for dif. reasons. they have affordable prices and are helpful and friendly. my go to tire shop in wtby.
My back passenger’s side tire has been losing air lately, so I made an appointment with VIP Tires at noon yesterday to get it inspected.
I was running about 10 mins late to the appointment, so I called the store and Mario Ramirez (one of the service managers at the location) picked up. I related to him how I was a single mom running on toddler time, but I would be there to the appointment soon. He laughed a bit and said, “I know all about that!” and reassured me that it was no problem.
When my daughter and I arrived to the store, I immediately noted the cleanliness of the interior lobby. They also had free coffee and water available for customers, as well as WiFi.
Mario made sure we were served promptly. He came out when the tire was done being inspected and let me know that there had been a nail lodged in it and it wouldn’t need replacing, just repair.
I asked Mario how much it would be. He immediately waved away the question and let me know that VIP Tires would be providing the service for free and that they like to do that every once in a while to give back to the community.
I was extremely touched and grateful. I live paycheck to paycheck most months, and even the relatively lower cost of a tire repair (as opposed to a tire replacement) would have had to go on my credit card that day.
On top of being a single mom, I am also neurodivergent and a member of the lgbtqia+ community (the latter of which would have been apparent to anyone working on my car due to my many pride-themed bumper stickers). I moved to Waterbury about a year ago after a tumultuous divorce process and I am still very much getting to know the area/community. It is abundantly clear that Mario and his team at VIP Tires are the type of people that see their job as more than just “work” but as an opportunity to connect, build trust, and provide aid within the community.
I would highly recommend going to VIP Tires if you require tire service. The staff are friendly, the lobby area is clean and comfortable, and they are clearly trying to connect and give back to the Waterbury community whenever possible!
Took my Honda Odyssey for an oil change.
They really did a thorough inspection, and everything they recommended was actually needed, with no recommendations just to make money. They even include pictures with the report. The staff is friendly, and they dont act like they are doing you a favor. 4 stars because it was only an oil change.
