If you like real barbecue, this is the place. Outstanding home style barbecue made with heart and love. Owner obviously a community man who cares about quality and satisfaction of meeting his customers expectations. I cannot endorse the place enough. Know you will be pleased with the food and it will support an outstanding person and his community!!!

Let me tell you, I’m baffled at the amount of food that was on my plate. From the wonderful owner’s wife, who’s giving nature showed in more than the amount of food we received. Everything was delicious and plentiful. The size of the fried shrimp! Omg! Definitely get it if possible. Great BBQ so close to home. I got the brisket, ribs, enormous shrimps, Mac- which is real Mac n cheese, green beans, yams (so sweet) and that delicious corn bread. Nothing was dry, but everything flavorful.

We ordered takeout. Brisket, collard greens, yams. Okay for sure. We wanted to try another BBQ place because we go to the same place. Definitely for those more sensitive to spice and salt because I could’ve used a little bit more. They’d sold out of the collard greens so I’m assuming why there was so much pot liquor but it wasn’t necessary. Good but not great. Tasty but not a staple for take out considering other restaurants in the area.

I just would like to share that this restaurant is hands down the best soul food that I have had in a long time outside of my own. And because I'm not able to cook my own right now because we are displaced I really appreciate the atmosphere the old school vibe. And the well prepared food good quality well worth the price the taste and we definitely will be back and my son is a firm believer now because before my hardship. I will buy the beef brisket and the collard greens and my son will try to say I'm not trying it because you know that's what kids do but he had lunch today there I had the beef brisket with the macaroni and cheese and collard greens potato salad and of course the cornbread is delicious the meals that they provide remind you of growing up. Made with love. it is well worth it thank you so much to the owner and his staff for providing us with two complimentary Meals. During my struggles.🙂

I must say the food was great, meats were tender and flavorful, sides didn't disappoint either, food even traveled well back to my house in Southbury.

If you haven't tried it yet I recommend you check them out.
