Aikido of Ramapo Valley

I have trained on and off here over the years and it’s much more than a dojo, but also a great group of people and friends. They teach the history of Aikido, both the beautiful as well as the martial sides of the art, problem deescalation, self defense, and is a great way to remain or become healthier both physically and mentally.

My son attended for 2 years and really loved his experience here. He was welcomed heartily, and he learned so much!! I love the teachers, and it was great that the kids got to get a new belt on a regular schedule...not too short of a time, and not too long for a kid to wait. I think it was an excellent experience; he learned not only how to move and balance and perform the movements, but there was an element of respect gained that I really appreciated. I highly, highly recommend this Dojo!

We're big fans of Aikido of Ramapo Valley. My kid has been attending classes for about 2 yrs now. The kids are great, the senseis are patient and kind, and the place just has a serene feel about it so it's nice to watch the kids practice. Highly recommend it!

Sensei and his wife run are incredible teachers and people. They are extremely flexible and have taught both of our children (ages 15 and 9) lifelong skills of self defense and pure focus. We are very thankful for the opportunity our children have received with the Aikido of Ramapo Valley school and know that our children will be safer in this world because of what they have learned. We would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone at any age.

My son and myself both attend this dojo. The environment is clean, organized, and the instruction is world class. I would highly recommend going to this dojo if you would like to learn the amazing martial art of aikido. From weapons to hand to hand combat, Vardi Sensei covers all aspects of the martial art. I’ve been practicing the art for 9 years and this dojo is enriching my aikido like never before.
