Babka Bakery is a must visit for bread and pastry lovers! The cafe was packed when I visited on a Saturday afternoon, but it was well worth the wait.
Everything here is so incredibly fresh and made with such high-quality ingredients. The breads have that perfect crusty exterior and soft, flavorful interior. The cakes are works of art: layered, creamy, and not overly sweet, with options that range from classic Polish donuts-paczki, poppy seed roll- makowiec, gingerbread cake-piernik , to fruity tarts.
What sets this place apart is how it truly reminds me of the charming bakeries I’ve visited during my travels across Europe—Austria, Switzerland, Italy, you name it. The cozy atmosphere, the aroma of fresh baking filling the air, and that authentic attention to detail… nothing like this exists around here.
Solid bakery-I can’t wait to come back.
The name of the place is babka , and they didn't even have babka on Friday....
Went here to get some sweets to celebrate my birthday and everything was delicious! The oreshki were my favorite.. check them out!
Amazing rye bread!! I took my Polish grandparents here and they love the orkiszowy. So full of flavor and also healthy! I’m so tired of that crappy, unhealthy white bread sold in those overpacked Polish delis. It’s sooooo refreshing to see a Polish bakery take pride in their product and appearance. I hear they’ve been around for 10 years...keep up the good work!
Also their pączki - delicious !!
I believe they're a Polish bakery, as Babka is a Polish word for old lady. Anyway, stopped in about 11am on a Wednesday for a rye bread and was told they don't have any. That's like going to a Polish meat market and asking for Kielbasa and being told they don't have any - just doesn't make sense. So I tried their "Spelt" bread. Brought it home, cut a slice and buttered it, tried it, wrapped the bread back in the bag and went to return the bread to the bakery.
The bread was so dense and void of any flavor. Zero flavor is a result of not adding (enough) salt. Did not like how dense the bread was, especially without any flavor. Truly disappointing.
When I arrived to the bakery and asked for my money back, I was told they don't reimburse returns, but I could try something else as a credit. The store is very limited on choices and I asked for another styled bread. I could have asked for cake, but nothing looked desirable.
Got home, sliced a piece of bread and buttered it. The bread was spongy and again void of any flavor, again a salt issue. I ended using the rest of the bread for French Toast as it was a very spongy bread, like white bread at the supermarket.
Visually the breads at Babka look wonderful, but on taste they really fail.
