This park could be great but it's ignored like the rest of Greenville. The playground equipment looks worn and there is garbage everywhere, the sprinklers weren't working on the hottest days, the bathrooms are closed.
Cute little park. With a large rope course suitable for ages 5 to 10. Has a splash pad but wasn't on in May.
Beautiful park designed by John T. Withers, nationally renowned landscape architect, around the turn of the century inspired by the "City Beautiful" movement. The park includes an historical marker for the Morris Canal Historic District. The Morris Canal ran close to here for almost a century until being abandoned in 1924. Also note the cannon in the park to commemorate the victory of Admiral Dewey at Manila Bay. And the bust of George Washington. Nice views of the Manhattan skyline somewhat obscured by foliage.
Definitely a 5 star park. Easy parking. Clean and well maintained. Playground has a fun climbing piece for older kids and smaller slides play structure for the littles. Tennis courts are lit and the basketball courts are clean. We didn't walk past the baseball field but it also looks nice. It was quiet and not busy on a Saturday afternoon.
If they build it, they still won't come. If you have only 1 kid they may be bored out of their mind. This is an okay playground. Has features seems like it can hold a lot of kids but the features aren't great. They do have a splash pad.
