Bookmarked

We were in the area for a few days and noticed that there was a bookstore nearby. Of course we had to stop in! We visited on a chilly and very windy Tuesday. This store, from the outside, seemed to hold its secrets rather than openly declaring all that it had to offer, but that was OK… it was a mystery to unravel! Like many of the other stores and eateries in this plaza, it was well-worth the visit!

Upon entering I was welcomed by the clerk who was sitting at the checkout counter. At first glance she seemed to be sitting upon a throne comprised of the stacked books which surrounded her. The store was very clean and well-organized! Many used book stores have their books loosely organized by category. Bookmarked had their offerings not only sorted by category, but also alphabetically by author within each category. That might seem the norm for big box book stores, or local libraries, but can be very difficult to stay on top of with the constantly rotating and random stock of a used bookstore. They had some of everything, features of seasonal books, and a warm, inviting environment. We will definitely be back if ever staying in this area again!

Yesterday, husband and I were taken to the store for the first time by friends. We found it to be very enjoyable. Bookmarked packs a lot of punch for its small size. Teresa is very personable and helpful in finding specific titles. Our friends bought a number of tomes for gifts. I was lured in by her collection of books in brown paper wrappers, and fully enjoyed reading 90 Minutes in Heaven, a book I normally would not have purchased. I am looking forward to going back to bookmarked for some more mystery selections. :) What a fun concept!

Bookmarked is a gem for readers of all kinds. Walking in feels like stepping into a treasure trove of stories, where each shelf is a doorway to timeless wisdom, adventure, and imagination. Nothing like a classic bookstore and the owners are great people. Worth the trip!
