This camp is wonderful! My 10 year old attended for BFF weekend to see if he would like camp. At first he was nervous, but on pick up day he said he didn’t want to leave! This camp is like something out of a movie situated near a lake with cute cabins, activities, zip lines, boats, etc. they have their process down to a science and my son was able to enjoy a carefree weekend. Same with my husband and I! No dexcom alarms because the amazing staff of T1Ds and HCPs took great care of my son. Highly recommend BFF weekend if your sugar baby is on the fence about going a full week. We will be returning!
I went to camp nejeda in 1981 and 82 and still carry those wonderful memories with me to this day I am a type one diabetic for 43 years and I learned enough there to keep me alive this long. This place is a godsend. If you have the opportunity to send your children here. Don't wait
I started coming to this camp 10 years ago, I have met all of my best friends and learned so much about diabetes. I really felt alone in my life because I thought I was the only one in the world with diabetes. There are so many different programs held at this camp! Such as Family camp, BFF weekend, & The Walkathon! I am grateful to have found this camp!
My son started attending Camp Nejeda 8 years ago as a newly diagnosed type 1. He has been back every summer since and it has been a warm, nurturing place for him to become part of the Nejeda family. Great organization with great, dedicated people making the lives of the kids that attend better.
Camp Nejeda was the best 14 years of my life, and I've lived for 50 years now! Not only is the camp beautiful and peaceful, but the most wonderful people in the world go there. It is a place to learn about diabetes, but also to feel so protected and loved by the 100 other diabetic youth there. Friendships for life are forged, and the fun is out of this world!
