Always been a great spot sit and eat or on the go..
Whether you believe it or not, is none of my concern but, I am a self dubbed pizza connoisseur & when I TELL YOU the grandma pie from Comet is OFF THE CHAIN…. Just ordered for the first time (even tho we’ve lived on the same street for yrs now) & am blown away that this pizza joint has been under our noses for the last few yrs and I’ve never had their food. The grandma pie is garlicky, crispy, & crunchy yet soft and pillowy in the middle. It’s literal magic. MAGIC. My husband got the stuffed shells and raved about them, as well.
Back to this grandma pie tho… you can’t find them many places and if you do, good luck getting a decent one. Comet BLOWS EVERY SINGLE GRANDMA PIE OUT OF THE WATER including Sciorentinos in south Amboy (iykyk).
If you’re reading the reviews (like I did earlier today), please take mine to heart and try them out. You won’t be disappointed. And the service?? IMPECCABLE. They were super busy when I called, so I held on for a minute or two, and was told that the GP takes about 45 mins or more but if it was ready beforehand, she would give me a call. What?? WHATTTT? Customer service is the back bone of any restaurant, bar, etc and they have theirs down to a science (tho I’d venture to say it just a natural event occurring). I cannot stress enough how much I’m kicking myself for not calling them until now. Cant wait to try a bunch more stuff from their menu.
Margarita pizza was 10/10. One of the best pizza places in Hillside and there’s not many. When we went to pick up the pizza, the owner was working hard and can tell this is his blood sweat & tears. He was also very welcoming and nice. And the pizza was amazing, will be back again & again!
Great owner, I remember when he was at BBQ. But the pizza I ordered tonight was charred. I ordered 3 slices and couldn't finish but one because the burnt taste was unbearable even with the extra toppings. Please don't overcook the pizza and when I place an order for chicken parmesan over ziti DO NOT GIVE ME SEPARATE DISHES OF ZITI AND CHICKEN PACKED WITH CHEESE AND SAUSE!! I want the meal! Chicken over ziti all in one sauce.
Nestled in the heart of the Tri-state area, this pizza haven embodies excellence in every slice, earning its rightful place as the unrivaled champion of pizzerias. The atmosphere exudes nostalgia, reminiscent of a bygone era of traditional pizza parlors, complemented by spotless cleanliness and attentive service that elevate the dining experience to a whole new level. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with the comforting aroma of freshly baked pies and the warm hospitality of the staff. It's no wonder I'm continually surprised that this establishment isn't hailed as the face of the region's best pizza – it consistently exceeds expectations and never disappoints. Their menu is a culinary masterpiece, offering a tantalizing array of options to suit every palate and mood. Whether you're craving a classic Margherita or feeling adventurous with a specialty pie, they have you covered. And for those who enjoy pairing their pizza with a refreshing beverage, they offer a curated selection of beer and wine. Let's not forget about dessert – their delectable treats are a sweet conclusion to any meal, meticulously prepared and served fresh daily. In summary, if you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to this pizza paradise. It's a five-star experience from start to finish, and my love for this place only continues to grow with each visit.
