One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. I had incredibly high expectations and I was not disappointed. Pizza was crisp, chewy, good cheese and sauce. The crust and how it’s cooked really makes this pizza exceptional. Fast and Friendly service. I Arrived at 1100 on a Wednesday. I was First in line and the pizzas took 15 minutes.

I don’t know why I put so much trust into Dave Portnoy, that’s my bad. But maybe it’s because he gave Brooklyn Square pizza such a high score and I know from experience ( I was there week one of opening and many times since)their pizza is absolutely amazing.
So being that I was finally near Delucia‘s (for my daughter’s soccer tournament), I was so stoked to try their pizzas.
I called, I asked if I can order pizzas, she told me it would be an hour wait, that was perfect for me, I placed my order, hung up the phone finished watching the game. immediately when the tourney was over, we raced over to get our pizzas.
    2 plain originals.
My daughter and I walked in, it was a dark, very small seating area, which is fine, but there was only two tables seated, so when I went to pay for my pizzas, I asked the girl if we could sit at a table and eat them and she said that was fine.
We were super happy about that since we had a long ride home.
We immediately sat down and flung open the pizza box, and then we both just looked at each other and laughed.
It was definitely not what I was expecting.
So if you’re from “North” jersey (freehold area), You probably heard of Federicis. Now I’m not sure if Portnoy scored them, (and at this point I couldn’t care less, he clearly doesn’t know pizza) but I give them a 9, amazing bar pies, amazingly thin, cracker like & crusty crust. a perfect tangy marinara, and just the right amount of cheese. Delucias was sort of a bar pie, but thicker, and their crust, although “well done” which I like, but it was burnt, which I don’t like. Gave it a charcoal taste. Took away from the pie. I didn’t get much flavor from their cheese and the sauce was just blah.
As far as pizzas go, my first “typical” style pizza will always be Brooklyn Square, as far as a bar pie, hands down- Federicis. And Delucia’s… well it won’t even fall on my list at all.
    Just utterly disappointed.

I've been trying to get here since David Portnoy's 9.4 rating. The pizza was great, the staff worker at the order window was very nice. The dining area was very simple, small wooden tables and chairs. I walked in at 11:45am to order, and was told it would be ready at 12:30pm, it is what it is. The prices were very fair. You get a feeling that you're in a famous eatery, which you are. The pizza made my top five, but not my favorite.

Finally was back in the area to try the world famous pizza. It definitely lived up to the hype. Thankfully it was only a 45-minute wait for a few pies. But it was definitely worth it. Staff is amazing. The history of the pizzeria is just so cool. Oh and did I tell you the pizza is absolutely amazing. Especially the sausage. You definitely need to try it.

The pizza absolutely lives up to the hype. I’ve tried pies from many of the top spots across the country, and this one stood out the moment I took my first bite. The cheese and sauce are outstanding, and the crust is perfect — sturdy with no flop and just the right amount of leopard spotting. I’d been in the area a few times before but could never get one since they were either sold out or closed. This time the wait was completely worth it, and I’m already looking forward to going back.
