TLDR: Solid spot in Edgewater for soft tofu, of course but the other items are also good. LA galbi + kimchi pajeon.
Randomly came in for lunch and wow - really enjoyable. I've been to a lot of the SGD spots and this was probably the best one I've eaten at. It's also roomy here too.
All the rice is made with quinoa and you can request it to be served in a hot stone bowl too.
The kimchi pancake was EXCELLENT. Crispy all around, not too thick and just very satisfying. The LA galbi was also surprisingly good, tender ribs with a nice grilled flavor.
For our mains we got the clam kalguksu soft tofu. The broth was good - the noodles had a nice chew and just solid. We grabbed a cheese buldak as well which was pretty decent.
I may have found a new spot to frequent along River Road!
my friend picked this place, drove from Berlin NJ just to come eat here. Was not disappointed and would definitely go back. The tofu stew was amazing and the bulgogi chicken was my favorite. the small plates were also super tasty. Service was great and there was a nice view of the water. Whole place felt clean and overall a good experience.
This is a very nice Korean restaurant with excellent service. Our group of eight was seated quickly, and we immediately enjoyed the beautiful ocean view. The food was delicious — the ribs were definitely my favorite, while the soups and salads were full of flavor. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I would definitely come back again.
This is a place I recommend to those who aren't sure what the difference between sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), bibimbap (bibimbap), and pajeon (green onion pancake) tastes like. The restaurant has a clean atmosphere and the staff is generally friendly, but the jjigae (stew) tasted too strong with MSG, and the bibimbap was so bitter that even after they replaced it, it was still tasteless. Considering the price, the food was terrible. My family was hungry, but we left everything behind. I will never go back.
We were practically in and out. The service was extremely good, and we got our food within approximately 10-15 minutes. The food is absolutely to die for. It warms you up inside, absolutely melts in your mouth, and is definitely authentic. We came from Maryland to try this restaurant, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Also, the restrooms were really clean and this was a big plus! Will definitely be coming back soon! We love SGD Tofu!
