Matcha
Wild Cacao
WasAmbon seasonal item
Hojicha Tea cookie
This chocolate is from Hokkaido, Japan.
At this event, I was greeted by the Royce sales clerk. She gave me a tour of the candy shop and provided me with four samples.
Matcha:
While I enjoy matcha integrated with bubble tea, I wasn’t a fan of this flavor because it was too bitter for my taste.
Wild Cacao:
This sample was pleasing; its texture was similar to dark chocolate.
Wasanbon:
My favorite aspect of this chocolate were the crushed almonds.
Hojicha Tea Cookie:
This was actually my favorite cookie because it actually tasted similar to a combination of green tea and a Biscoff cookie. If you decide to have this cookie, you won’t need a cup of tea!
At the conclusion of this event, I was given a goody bag with multiple souvenirs such as a utensil key chain and $10 rebate coupon.
Overall, this was a neat experience sampling foreign chocolate. When you arrive, do not expect a full dessert serving because you will only be provided with samples.

Royce' chocolate is by far the best chocolate I have ever had. It is definitely love at first bite. Just the right amount of sweetness and indulgent decadence with lots of varieties to win over any picky palate. Royce' in Japan was phenomenal. Since not every day or month can one go to Japan, the next best option is to go to a nearby Royce'. What is even better than that? The staff. Experience the perfect dessert with excellent service provided by Suzzane. She was very helpful and knowledgeable of the products. She took time to explain how to store and how to gift the chocolates. Her recommendations were spot on. Suzzane provided service with a smile with every encounter.
Today at my Yelp Elite Experience I had the pleasure of touring Royce' Chocolate in Edgewater.
Royce' Chocolate is a premium Confections brand from Hokkaido, Japan. This company was founded in 1983. They use well-curated ingredients from around the world 🌎.
Their high quality Confections in Hokkaido has one main goal, which is demonstrating How Japan does Chocolate! Ladies and gentlemen yes indeed Japan knows how to do chocolate. Their chocolate is so smooth, silky, not overly sweet and not bitter but just right.
The 2 Royce' representatives were so kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable.
There are varieties of different chocolates they make. Something for everyone. So if you have a special occasion, or even want to treat yourself to a luxe sweet.....just go to Royce' and indulge!
The store is located inside the Mitsuwa Market so if you need groceries and lunch and delicious chocolate it's a win win win 🤣🤣

High end Japanese chocolate store. Variety forms of chocolate, creamy, with chips, with nuts, with alcohol !
I got to tried 3 different kinds, all delicious and rich. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We got a little tour of all the products.
I personally like the dark ones (80%). Love the bitterness from the little cube. Wake me up and satisfy my afternoon snack craving.
Calling all chocolate lovers! Have you ever tried Japanese chocolates before?
While Western chocolate comes in many different varieties, they tend to be on the overly sweet or bitter side, depending on the brand and type.
On the other hand, Japanese chocolates tend to be more mild in flavor and a bit on the milkier side. This is by no means a traditional or native confection to Japan. However, it is still one of the most popular snack and dessert options.
Royce' Chocolate is a family-owned business based in Sapporo City, Hokkaido. Founded in 1983, Royce’s mission has always been to deliver delicious chocolate products using only high-quality ingredients. Their popularity has spread overseas in recent years.
Today, my partner and I had the pleasure of attending Yelp's Summer of Sweet event at ROYCE' Chocolate in Edgewater, located in Mitsuwa Marketplace, thanks to Sara and the staff at Royce.
Upon arrival at their cozy establishment as first-timers, we were greeted by the manager, Suzzane.
She explained to us the history of chocolate making in Japan and the company. Samples of the chocolates began with Champagne Pierre Mignon, Nama Chocolate Ecuador Sweet, Prafeuille Chocolat Orange, and Potato Chip Chocolate, which were appreciated.
The taste is unique, creamy, & just simply amazing. They have a good selection of chocolate infused with assorted flavors.
Your taste buds will thank us, which we can recommend.
