Iconic, no nonsense gym perfect for folks of all ages and skill levels. Facility is clean and equipment is well maintained. The owner, Gary, is as friendly and welcoming as he is knowledgeable about fitness (which is quite a bit). You won't need to sign complicated membership agreements, no being harassed by sales people disguised as personal trainers. What you get with Fitness City is an experience and community unmatched by anything the big franchise gyms could ever hope to offer.
Best place on earth. Don't make the mistake of thinking the classic "Pumping Iron" aesthetic means it's only for veteran lifters. Fitness City is for anyone who wants to get fitter, bigger, and stronger. Gary, the owner, and all his regulars are true gems of people.
Best gym on East coast.. Lots to see here. It is not only a great place to train but has years of not only body building history but also of local town history.
GREAT GYM! Gary is phenomenal, and his gym is legendary. A really awesome experience and a great workout. Matawan is a better place because of Fitness City.
One of the coolest places I have been to in a long time. A great gym with an almost even greater owner. He lives and breathes the sport and is super likeable. Very well equipped. Not much space but packed with great oldschool Equipment and a great yard where one can lift outside! I would not hesitate a second and sign up if I lived in the area!
