Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

This is our go to spot since it’s only couple of minutes from us. They also have large dining space inside the store, but most people do take outs. Usually we put in orders here via phone. They offer discounts on cash payments, like $3 off on order above $35. So, I always pay with cash.

Their menu is huge and of course that includes all the well known dishes. We usually order the spring rolls, scallion pancakes, lo main, chicken with eggplant, shrimp with garlic sauce. They give free rice and fortune cookies with each order too. The dishes usually hit or miss from here. Sometimes they taste really good, other times they tasted bland. Sometimes the pancake and rolls are over fried. But for the price and convenience we suck it up and order from them whenever we need to get a meal quickly.

I have been regularly here even before they moved here from Washington St. There were some up and down but this time was bad. There was foul smell coming out of hot and spicy chicken so after one bite we stopped eating it and I was going to throw it away. But I don't know why but I decide to take it to store and let them know. They said it is from bamboo shoot and it is normal and asked me what do I want. I told them this is not my first time I ate hot and spicy chicken and asked for a refund. They were saying blah blah so I just left.

Food was great, but they took the special customization off doordash so I don't really want to order anymore. What was once my regular place to eat is no more, because its no longer convenient.

If I cant write in doordash "no mushrooms" because im allergic, or to "make it spicy" then I really don't have interest.

One of the highlights of this place was the care they put into little things the customer wanted, but now that's gone.

If I cant make my boneless ribs spicy, or say no mushrooms in the meal, I just cant order here anymore. Damn shame
