Went Saturday, December 13th. Had a 7:30 reservation for 6 (4 adults, two toddlers). We were seated right away. It took 15 minutes for a waitress to ask if we wanted drinks. We said we were ready to order. It took 45 minutes to receive our orders. They didn't bring out the children's meals first. After being served our meals, the waitress did not come back to check on us. It wasn't that crowded, so obviously there was a problem with the chef in the kitchen. The food was very good and the rooms were beautifully decorated for Christmas. Also, since it's in an old house, was very cold in the dining rooms downstairs but bathrooms and bars upstairs were warm and comfortable. Also, there is very limited parking. Not sure if there was a handicap ramp.
Beautiful day to sit outside for a drink. We had the pretzels starter for a some quick food.
We then went inside had ate dinner. Salad bar ro start. Have as much as you want and whatever you want. This is nice because you get want you want.
Dinner was filet mignon. A very costly mistake. The meat was a small piece of fat. Very disappointing for two at the table.
Dessert was rice pudding mush and brownie (if you can find it) with ice cream.
Overall it was a mediocre dinner. I was hoping for better.
Rustic restaurant by water. Limited parking but cute inside. Food is solid mid tier restaurant fare. Grilled salmon and stuffed chicken breast were good. Their twice baked potato is really good and the salad bar is small but offers nice variety and very good potato salad and coleslaw.
Mixed drink i ordered was lackluster (blueberry mojito came without the blueberries muddled so the blueberries just floated around and added no flavor. Also drink had too much rum so it wasnt balanced. Maybe if the berries were muddled it wouldve been better)
Service was slow for our party (took about an hour or so for food. We had about 30 people) but when the food came it was all at the same time and hot so that was good.
If you want a solid straight forward meal and salad bar Happy Apple Inn is good for that.

Food and service was phenomenal!! Our waitress was Anna, and she was perfect! She came to the table frequently to check on us. The salad bar was so fresh and was kept very clean! Our entrees came out hot and crispy but were still so moist!! Also, portions were just enough! The views of the lake are stunning! We’ll be back!
