The Residence at Basking Ridge

My Mom, Florence Dennis, spent the last year and a half of her life happily at the Residence before passing on June 30th 2025 a few months shy of her 93rd birthday. The staff at the Residence always went beyond caregiving (which they're great at!)..... they were family. They were family to my Mom and family to me as well. There are no words that adequately describe the love, guidance and support that we received as my Mom inevitably drew closer to her passing. I would have literally been lost without these beautiful souls by my side. They were with us like family every step of the way. The day my Mom did pass, every employee stood in a reverent beautiful line as she left the Residence for her last time. And it didn't end there. On there own time, and without a word ever being said, several of them attended her funeral mass which meant more to me than I can express. You will hear that the Residence is physically beautiful, the food is great, the entertainment is terrific and non-stop and the place is impeccably kept, and that's all true.....but to me it's family, and that's what mattered most. A special shout out To ESSE, Gloria, Ursula, and Alison. You are my angels on Earth and you'll always be in my heart!

The place is well appointed and beautiful. However in memory care they approach a mid level nursing home. I applauded the place for the first few months and then noticed the neglect. It's clean and safe but the care is lacking

My husband is a nurse and does home visits. When it was clear my mother could not go home after 2 surgeries and months of rehab for a fractured ankle he consulted with some of his co-workers about where to place her. The Residence was the overwhelming consensus if there was availability. From the moment I walked in I knew it was the palace my mother would appreciate. It's beautiful, new and sun-filled.

My mother is an extremely difficult individual and it was a very frustrating first few months for all involved, especially the nursing staff. Ursula and Selma have been very helpful, patient and communicative with us about everything from her care to her behavior issues. We appreciate their total commitment to making mom's environment safe and comfortable. My mother now gets up and out of her room by 10 am or earlier for the entire day and is involved in all kinds of activities. When she lived in her private home with a live in aide she never got dressed and out before 1pm.

I'd like to share our family's experience with assisting with our mom's move to The Residence of Basking Ridge. The move to this community has been very pleasing and extremely positive for our mom and our family. The staff takes very good care of the residents and have always been extremely cooperative and sensitive to mom's ever changing needs. The apartments/rooms and common areas are well maintained. We have dined with her on several occasions and found the meals to be good. They are always pleasant and provide an atompshere that makes our visits welcoming and enjoyable. Mom enjoys the activities and has made new friends! This community has worked out well and I feel comfortable in recommending.
