Lots of variety and decent prices. Been there a few times, friendly and helpful staff. They can give recommendations as well if you have a special occasion or party. They have a loyalty program as well. I find the wine and beer assortments very interesting. Lots of internationally acclimated liquor as well there. Have some extra time to go through the collection, saw some hard to find spirits as well
Apparently there was some turmoil here between former and new owners and how existing employees and customers were treated. I don't know anything about it so I'll leave you to read up on that on your own and decide if it affects your willingness to shop here.
My review is just on the store's merits as I've seen them over the last few months. I don't talk to employees when I go to stores in general nor do I rely on Joe Canal's staff for information. I tend to buy whiskey only. The prices here are good, and way better than in the PA state stores. The selection is also quite good on bourbons and scotches, although I've not seen too many rare finds.
The staff do indeed seem to have no regard for you as a customer other than as a transaction, but honestly that's what I'm used to pretty much anywhere I go. Maybe I would have enjoyed this place more in its glory days.
