We had a nice hike here today. Fall is probably the best time to be here. Will surely be back
One great trail in Princeton area. Neat and well maintained tracks. Suitable for bike and walking. Dogs are allowed with leash. No food, restrooms or rest areas available. Avoid during rainy days.
Parking lot is small and easy to miss. It’s right next to a residential driveway, and I’m sure they’re used to people pulling into their driveway instead of the parking area, or turning around. Park maps were not stocked at the trailhead, also.
Overall, it’s a lovely park, and it connects to another (a Johnson family donated land preserve), but some trails at the top of the hill aren’t marked well. The graffiti on the cave was also off putting.
John Witherspoon Woods earns a well-deserved five stars as a delightful escape into nature. The area is abundant with trails that cater to both casual strollers and more avid hikers. The little hills throughout provide a gentle challenge, making it an ideal spot for those who enjoy a scenic hike without the strain of steep or overly rugged terrain. This makes the woods accessible and enjoyable for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. The well-maintained paths and natural beauty create a peaceful environment perfect for a day out in the fresh air. Whether you're looking for a quiet walk to clear your mind or a place to connect with nature, John Witherspoon Woods is an excellent choice.
Awesome new little find! The various trail terrain. Rock hopping stream crossing boulder climbing it had it all! Parking lot is small so get there early No bathrooms at this trailhead. Expect muddy conditions. Definitely will revisit
