My Mother in Law has been there almost a year. She first started in the Rehab facility & now is in Assisted Living. Masonic Village has been a blessing in disguise. From nursing staff to management, they have helped her in so many ways. I try to visit often and always find the aids attentive to her needs.
I previously posted a review and received a response. I appreciate the response, but Masonic Village misunderstood me and thought I was referring to the previous director of activities, so for that reason, I deleted my review and am posting it again. To clarify, I do know there's a new IL activities coordinator. That's what all my comments are referring to, and that's also what I've heard concerns about from my in-laws and other residents, who feel that the new activities directorship is very enthusiastic, but struggles with disorganization and attunement to residents' communication styles. Since my review wasn't understood, I'm pasting it below with an edit for clarity.
My original review from 12/31/25: Since the arrival of the new IL activities director, my in-laws, who are generally easygoing people, have been commenting that they’re finding it confusing how many activities are incorrectly advertised or canceled without notice. I recently experienced this while visiting. Today, a New Year’s Eve event was held which was listed as taking place at 3 different times in 3 different places. First it was going to be a mid-morning event on New Year’s Eve, then it was going to be on New Year’s Day, then it was going to cost $25/person, then it was free, then it was moved to lunchtime on New Year’s Eve…Some folks showed up at the mid-morning time and others didn’t make it at all because they thought it was the next day. Residents were stopping by my in-laws’ table at the cafe afterward commenting on how frustrating it was. This is only one example of a new level of disorganization that they are finding stressful. Additionally, the new coordinator continually tells them to download an app for the latest updates. My in-laws find technology confusing, like a lot of people in their 80s and 90s, and they do not even have a smartphone or know how to work anything but the absolute basic controls on their TV. They are never going to be able to use an app to stay up to date, and it makes them anxious that it keeps being suggested to them. Overall, they are finding the new style of communication from the coordinator overwhelming and anxiety-provoking. We love Masonic Village and it has been a positive place for them, which is why it’s been upsetting to hear about their distress. I really hope that these recent developments are only temporary, as they love being involved in community activities there and they were previously really benefitting from predictability and clear, calm communication at the helm.
As the daughter-in-law of a resident at Masonic Village, I can say—without hesitation—that this community has been a gift to our family.
From the moment we walked through the doors, there was what I can only describe as a sense of calm. The staff don’t just do their jobs; they show up. With patience, warmth, and the guarantee that everyone living there are treated like human beings, not inconveniences. She is known by name, her favorite meals are prepared without hesitation, and every staff member offers attentiveness, as well as a high-level quality of care.
The campus itself is beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed. It feels comforting and welcoming, not at all institutional. There’s always something going on—activities that stimulate the mind and social opportunities that actually feel inviting instead of obligatory. My MIL is more engaged now than she was before living here, and if you knew her, that alone speaks volumes.
Communication with any facet of the facility has always been clear and reassuring. When any questions came up before, during, or after her move, they were promptly answered. When concerns arise, they’re addressed with dignity, respect and follow-through. Their Nurse Navigator and security staff are one of a kind. That type of consistency has built enormous trust within us, and trust is everything when you’re placing someone you love into another’s care.
What's most important is that she feels safe, acknowledged, and in a place that she can truly call HOME. As a family member who's experienced the challenges and hardships, that peace of mind is priceless.
Masonic Village at Burlington isn’t just a place to live—it’s a community that truly cares.
My grandmother has lived here for years and I can't say enough wonderful things about Masonic. She has made so many wonderful friends and created so many memories that she will cherish for the rest of her life. The staff and residents are absolutely wonderful and they all truly look out for one another. My family is blessed to have discovered this community and we will forever sing their praises. Thank you to everyone for their service and dedication all those that reside there, especially my gram. 🥰
My mom stayed at Masonic Village at Burlington for short-term rehab after breaking her hip, and the care she received was outstanding. She has dementia, and the staff were so kind, patient, and understanding with her. They made her feel safe and comfortable, and kept me updated every step of the way. The therapy team worked wonders helping her regain strength and confidence. The facility is beautiful and clean and she had her own room so we were able to spend all day with her. I’m so grateful for the care and compassion they showed my mom. I highly recommend Masonic Village at Burlington!
