Nice place for a hot dog and some of the best ice cream I have had. We had a great conversation with the owner. Not open all year long as its seasonal, so call ahead to see if they are open.
The best hot dogs I have ever had. Been going there for 50 years ant they never disappoint! The dogs are custom made, the buns are custom made and the sauce is out of this world. Its not really chili I don't think but it is very unique and downright delicious. A lot of though and experimentation went into these dogs and it is revealed in every last bite. The french fries are always perfect and the milk shakes are awesome. The service is great and the place has indoor and outdoor seating. Love this place and the people who own it are awesome too. You have to go there! 2 all the way, fries and a milk shake!
Enjoyed the Texas Weiners at @mccobbsfamilyrestaurant in #Wayne, #NJ on their last night of the season in January 2024. Don't worry, they always come back in the spring!
Here they serve up a unique preparation of Texas Weiner (celery mixed in with the white onions), and the chili sauce is darn tasty. I took some to go home.
Owner Dean Mamakos (working here since 1966 when he started at 13 years old) boasts that the chili sauce has 26 spices, all combining into a delicious condiment to top their 7:1 deep fried beef and pork hot dogs.
Dean told us the brand of hot dog, but he asked us to keep it under wraps because his competition all wants to know!
Believe me when I say that it's not the usual in these parts, and it's a high quality frank. My lips are sealed 🤐

Amazing tomato based sauce. Do had solid snap to it. The guy who runs the place, Dean, knows more about hot dogs than I ever will. Price is so worth it.
Food was good, but a bit overpriced for what we ordered. Their fried chicken could use some more seasoning and the chicken cheese steak we got was not a true cheese steak. More like chopped up chicken breast with peppers and onions on a roll. Their fries were the best part of the meal. Nice atmosphere with an old country feel. We didn't even bother with their ice cream because the price was a bit to high for us to bother.
