Ocean County Library

Love the little whiting library ! Staff is lovely, always clean, and if they don't have a book I need I just request it and it comes in within 2 days.

The Ocean County Library branch in Whiting is awesome! The staff is always so helpful and polite. I love to go there, it's always such a pleasant experience.

I've been a patron of this library for approximately fifteen years and I have nothing but praise for it and the wonderful people who work there! They go out of their way to make sure clients are satisfied every time. In all that time, I've only experienced one very minor glitch which was straightened out almost immediately. That's an impressive record! I'm an avid reader and I keep them busy, believe me! I totally recommend this particular location in Whiting, and I've also experienced wonderful care at the other branches I've been to. All in all, a book lover's dream!!

Being a older couple and today's technology everything being done by computers, smartphones, etc. no one can do anything anymore the old fashion way of US Postal service or regular old fashion phone calls, DRIVES OLDER PEOPLE CRAZY, and I just like to say a big THANK YOU TO ALL THE GREAT WORKERS, THEY ARE AWESOME AND WE APPRECIATE EVERYTHING THEY DO FOR US

Ocean County Library constantly amazes with what they do and provide..the service & services
are way beyond library. I love it!

Is OCLS the best town library in America? Oh Yes! And it gets better and better all the time..especially the main branch downtown Toms River.
It is truly a monumental achievement..
impressive! Congratulations. We're lucky here folks, so proud of our library. Thank You.

Note: Only a few complaints/requests:

1. The Whiting, Manchester Township "Reading Center" should be made a regular branch.
The hours are very limited as is the materials selection. And there are few places to read! There are few tables, few chairs and no private work desks. There are no services or activities.
Downtown TR and the Manchester branch on Colonial are too far to be a realistic replacement.
The Whiting community is huge, the branch has high trafffic & use, and the high senior population needs and deserves a real OC library branch --
with a large array of activities, events and services -- which will be utilized and appreciated even more by the Whiting community than any other.

(Trips, displays, events, classes, contests, events, shows, movie nights, theater, lectures, dance, exercise, music, performances, workshops, talks, exhibits, etc.)
Please expand Whiting.

Also, many of the services that ARE available in the OCLS through the Whiting branch are un- or under-utilized, because they are not displayed, publicized, promoted or encouraged. Most there do not know those services are available.
Also, note on Whiting DVDs...
the Whiting film collection could def cater more toward seniors, with their uniquely generational movies ..
many of which, btw, I notice sit Idle
at other branches, and would be very much appreciated by the unique Whiting audience.

2. Could use more computer help.
Not all OCLS personnel have the computer skills to help patrons who really need it.

3. DVDs: Rather than each library of the OCLS having "their own collections" exclusively,
it would be a great service improvement to sometimes rotate
the DVD catalogs.
